Wait.. I thought if it had a tag that said china then it was. No tag is fine. Am I off base here? And did u try looking in all crevices? Apparently they hide the china one really small.

Trust me. I looked EVERYWHERE. Pulled the lining inside out, checked the pockets, corners, everything. Even took it out in the sunlight to look for it. Just the fact that the black fabric tag had been snipped was enough to turn me off. For me to pay almost $2,000 for a bag, I shouldn't have to play hide and seek with a tag.....and then for Prada's customer service to ignore my questions in an email sealed the deal.

The reality is, practically everything is made in China nowadays. I don't let it bother me. The Chinese have a very, very long history of fine craftmanship. I know the image of 'Made in China' has been tainted by the counterfeit market, but all China-produced items shouldn't be tarred with the same brush. What bothers me is expensive labels hiking up their prices as manufacturing costs come down. For that reason I never pay full retail for any bag. And as soon as I get over my premier label addiction I intend to shop for bags in department stores and on the High Street. Why should I line the pockets of greedy designers?

I totally agree with you. It's not the *made in China* that bothers me, it's them giving the appearance that the bag is made in Italy when more than likely it wasn't. If they want to make their bags in China, they need to adjust their prices. :)
I don't have the luxury of shopping in department stores here. Our nearest malls are 3 hours away so I'm forced to shop online. I was just beginning to get interested in Prada but after that, I'm over it. :smile1:
