I have a camera box bag made from Exotic crocodile leather for than 10 year now, and the quality/craftsman ship is on par with my friend Hermes croc mini lindy. Ferragamo quality is really good IMHO.
What Ferragamo handbag is on the same level as Chanel Flap, Gucci Marmont, Hermes Birkin, or Bottega Veneta Jodie?

I'm not sure I understand that comment unless LV is the Sketchers in that equation. Despite their popularity, I don't find their quality to be impressive at all. In fact, quite the contrary....I have experienced quality issues with several LV items. Ferragamo is known for craftsmanship and timeless pieces. I think the brand has a more classic vibe/audience overall compared to LV being more "flashy" these days, which is what probably inspired the comment by an ignorant reader. JMHO
I am very pleased with my Ferragamo studio bag. It is so well-made and I personally like the leather lining.

Same. I knew about them cos of their shoemaking, and then I learnt they made handbags.
Sorry to hear about your experience. Similar thing happened to me with LV and melting glazing which ruined bags and as a result, clothing and other items they came in contact with. One limited edition bag I adored had to be returned as LV couldn't even offer to repair the issue.
