^I agree...I love that halos refer to antique styles. I don't mind a paved shank in a ring that I wear occassionally, but I agree that I could never wear a pave shank every day.I love it! Halos are actually an antique style that recently had a resurgence in popularity so, while they are trendy right now, I still consider them a classic style. And honestly, while I see dozens of them every day online via pricescope, etc., I am hard pressed to see very many in my day to day life.
I really love halo rings with plain shanks! But that's because I don't like the feel of pave between my fingers, lol, it bugs me and ever since I switched to a setting with a nice plain shank, I've never turned back!
Every jeweler makes a point of pushing the halo since it makes the stone look bigger and that's all I can think of when I see them, since that talking point was repeated so many times!
I do absolutely love halos around fancy shapes, because it really shows off the shape of the center stone. And I love halos around colored stones too!
Update: I went to the store and tried it on... and I remembered why I don't like jewelry shopping even though I love jewelry. The saleswoman wasn't very pleasant and I couldn't decideThe setting and main stone did blur into one another almost completely. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but looking at it you can't really tell if there is a center stone or not. She said I couldn't take pics for "security reasons" so there you go, no second opinions on this one. Maybe I won't be doing this right now and I'll get a wide eternity band first instead. Either way I will be sure to post pics
