Yeah, here in every jewelry store the cases are full of halos and cushions. The pricey store I visited last week to look at Rolexes told me everyone comes in and asks for cushions w/ halos!
It's a classic design for sure, just happens to be on the uptrend right now.

I agree w/the other girls that said halo's are popular right now... but I don't see many women w/halos in real life. I see tons of halo's online on the boards.

What I love about the Tacori halo's is the diamonds around the center stone are tiny and very sparkly (and there's not a lot of metal), so they don't overpower the center stone. Most halo's I see have a larger boarder around the center stone, and although it's also a pretty look, it's not as subtle and dainty IMO.

I actually think it's perfect or could be higher! I don't care for low-set stones. It makes the stone look "smaller" since it's so squat. I like to see the culet from the side.

Me, too!:p I love, I need to see the culet from the side and perhaps the girdle, too!

(btw, I always admire your posts because yours are data-driven/rich and backed by "reasons" or "grounds" to support your opinion. So, always very clear. You must be logical person. Wonderful!:smile1:)

I really would encourage you to try it on. You won't know for sure if you love that setting until you have it on your hand. I do like it, but I prefer halos around colored gemstones for me.

Thanks everyone! I think I am going to make the drive to try it. Hopefully it's as pretty in real life as in the picture and the halo (or underhalo?) doesn't overwhelm the main stone...

In my area, the young women getting engaged now are choosing halo settings. But us old-timers (that have been married 15-20 yrs) don't have them. I'm the exception. I did a reset last spring in a HOF halo and I totally love it. Because I went with platinum, it will be my forever ring!

Thank you! I have broadened my consumer research into actual education over the last few years. Not really to get into the trade, but to know all I can know about it. My husband would dispute the "logical" part of your statement, lol but I am probably overly practical. Anal-retentiveness has its pros and cons! haha!!!

I love this because it's got simplicity to it and then on the sides of the part that holds the center diamond it's like a little surprise of extra detail! It's like if you feel you want lots of detail but also to keep it simple this seems great for that, not sure if that's what you were thinking. I love this though!

I also agree with a commenter that halos are so so common but at the same time I think for certain things it's ok. Like if all your friends have a certain style maybe you won't want that, but if it's only people you meet or see anywhere outside your social circle you might find it's not a problem, that's how I feel about it. I don't care for the halo at first for that reason, but then it came down to me just liking it a lot on others and not really for me.

Adore: you got my thoughts exactly right - I love the way it has both simplicity and detail and am hoping it shows that way when I see it in real life. I don't know anyone who has one like this but I haven't really been looking for it either. I think if I end up loving it I won't care who has similar ones or not (I hope)

I'm not a halo fan (not around diamonds anyway) but for a halo that one looks nice to me. My question would be--you said you have a D color diamond. What color would the stones in the halo be? I'd question them about that becuase in contrast to a D,the halo might look dingy if the stones are way lower colored. or perhaps I should say, might not match. Which you may or may not mind. But I'd want to know in advance if it were me.

This came to mind because a friend of mine has a D color that she wears with an enhancer; I don't know what color exactly the enhancer is but the other stones look very grey and ugly beside the D.
