My HG used to be the LV MM Neverfull. I still want the bag, but it's been downgraded from HG to eh, I could live my life without it. I would assume I'm of simple taste because I'm only interested in the MK Hamilton's. I bought two, but heck..Why stop there? I recently bought the MK Hamilton Tote in Zinnia and I am awaiting it's arrival. That's my HG.

I already have more Hamilton's and Selma's in mind though. I don't keep with the same look. I change up my outfits to how I'm feeling that day. So somedays black or tan is just not going to cut it and I have to go with red, green, blue, or pink. I want to have those options in my purse collection. I just need Red & Blue!

Very interesting thread, and I can relate to so many of the comments. It DOES seem to be about the quest....the decision of EXACTLY what I want, the FINDING it, and the GETTING it. After that thrill, actually using the HG seems to take a backseat. And it seems that as soon as an HG is achieved, another style/color/look (or whatever) catches my eye. Not saying this applies to everyone - but I know for me it is addictive, as in a not-so-healthy pursuit, a way to get a high and avoid looking at aspects of my life I don't want to deal with.

I'm now making a very conscious effort to find only ONE bag in each category (ie one everyday bag, one tote, one small crossbody, one clutch) that will go with everything and that is within my budget. We'll see how THAT goes! ;-)

Incidentally, my HG is a H Kelly Retourne 32 in matte gray croc, which ironically doesn't fit the bill of the most functional style of bag for me (it's missing an exterior pocket and the flap & strap is FAR too fiddly for me) so I'm really curious if by chance one day I actually acquire this, would actually be...shall I say, HAPPY?!?

U know, sometimes if u wait long enough the wanting and the magic of a certain HG will pass and there will b another in its place!

Well said ! That always happens to me. The magic always pass when I wait too long before buying a bag. Either I got another bag in mind or my "picsou" (Donald's old uncle) side shows up lol.

HAHAHA! Probably will happen, but there are so many things I'm into. Electronics is my first love. My iMac is my holy grail and once they update again I'm giving this one to my kids and getting my newer HG iMac.

If I keep adding to my collection, I'm going to have to build a closet for all of these bags!!! My HG is arriving today! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Well I just bought my HG bag 3 days ago and I'm in the process of selling most of my collection simply because I don't need all the other bags when I have one I truly love and fits my needs. But I don't think you can have one HG only, I know the bag I just bought will be my everyday / work / travel bag but I won't use it for going out for instance as it is huge or for the beach considering the price. And also I do feel like my idea of HG will change overtime, I'm only 24 so I can't imagine having the exact same taste and needs when I'll be older, have kids etc. But for now I don't plan on getting any more bags and I'm thinking of using my money for other things such as travelling or even clothes etc... :)

Love this thread! I just got my HG Louis Vuitton! I will not use her often ... Just save her and take her out every so often ... Taking her out and admiring her and knowing she is in my closet just makes me feel ... complete! It's just a good feeling!

+1, totally with you there. its not even about using it but knowing you finally have it! but of course i will love using it too.

I have HGs for each brand I like. So, I basically move on to the next brand and work to get that bag. Soon my closet will be holy grails of all the brands I love. :)

Once I obtain all the brands I like, I'd probably move to another item, like shoes. Or household stuff.

I know, right?!?! I have to over the fact that a scratch or so is inevitable and just take her out occassionally... But sometimes I think she is so gorgeous I'm scared to carry her! I think it's the newness of it all... It is the most perfect bag! Love, love, love!!!!!!
