She agreed to pay shipping too. She will refund 100% of what I paid her and I'll pay to ship back to her. I guess I could have pushed for her to pay both ways but I would rather just get it over with.

Well on the good side I have an additional $180 now to add to my Coach shopping in New Orleans in a few weeks.

I really liked that bag though.

We are going on a cruise on May 19th and going to New Orleans by way of the Gulfport outlet first, LOL!. So if I don't find anything at the outlet I'll shop Canal Place or maybe Lakeside Shopping Center in Metaire!

To me, excellent means like new. So many people have different interpretations. However, it should have been disclosed. Regardless of her being a nice person, you feel cheated, right? I would ask for a full refund and explain what you said here. Tell her you have enjoyed dealing with her; however you are not happy with the end result. Hope she can accommodate you and correct the situation.

Glad to hear it. Someone said they saw the pw's at the outlets already. I usually see the previous years right before christmas so maybe a new one will be yours down the road.

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. It's things like this that make me Ebay-phobic when it comes to bags. Everyone interperets things differently. Personally, if the bag was not as described then it really should be the responsibility of the seller to pay for return shipping, but I'm also like you and if the person is nice about it, I probably wouldn't push to get that back. I'm glad you were able to resolve things to your satisfaction. Having more money for the Coach budget is never a bad thing. ;)

You were very respectful in your letter to the seller.

Mint to me is like new with no signs of use. Excellent would be minimal signs of use, not obvious (like surface scuffs, seen in the right light). Obvious is obvious, even if it is one scratch, it should be declared.

If a standard of guidelines existed grading items would be consistent. But it's subjective we have own level of standards. We tpfr's probably have a higher level of expectation from Coach sellers. Now we know and should ask more specific questions.

I have received NWT bags that I questioned, perhaps a return or a store display! Some sellers aren't so forthright!

Glad everytrhing worked out for you.
There was reasonf ro you to have to keeo the bag that wasn't as stated.
Have fun on your cruise =)

I think you handled it very well. Personally, when I am spending that much money on something, I want to know every little detail about what I am purchasing, even if someone just breathed on it wrong. The scratches definitely should have been disclosed in the posting.

I'm all about 100% customer satisfaction!

I'm glad that the situation was resolved to your satisfaction. The seller should have disclosed the scratches in the description of the bag. Not doing so is
just bad business practice.

I can understand your disappointment. But, I also agree with noshoepolish about the two patches that were scratched. I have seen that bag brand new in Nordstroms with scratches on those two patches and this was on multiple bags...it's the way that particular leather is. Were there pics in the auction? I would think if it were scratched badly it would show in pics. I know I take close up pics for my auctions. Would you be willing to share the auction #?

In regards to return/refund, you always ship the bag back before you get a refund. Just like a regular store, they don't refund you before you actually return the merchandise. When I buy from a regular online retailer and I need to return something, I have to pay the shipping to return it. I don't think the seller is trying to scam you, she's following good selling practices, IMO.
