What color skirts I'm tired of black

I try to like them but it's a bit too much for me. Though I did buy a few inexpensive patterned t shirts for summer but Johnny was is still too much for me.
I totally understand. I only have a few items and they aren't their typical style: one is a sportier style jacket that reminds me of those members only jackets from the 80s in a silky fabric camoflauge print with traditional camo colors like green and brown but also fuschia (had to have this but still haven't worn).

The other is a pair of black velvet pants with gold embroidered celestial pattern by ankles which are very comfortable and I have worn several times. I actually wore the other day in Colorado with coordinating tennis shoes bc I was expecting it to be cold. Had actually planned on transforming this from a day to night look with fancy gold sandals and evening bag I've been needing reason to use but everything there was so casual I just went to dinner in the tennis shoes. Lol I realize this has nothing to do with original topic but wanted to corroborate/elaborate on Johnny Was.

Here's photo of the pants. They're one of my favorite articles of clothing.

Skirt looks totally different on a petite person (she's only 5'2") than on the models on the website, where it came just below the knee. I actually like both looks.

On another note, are you a Duran Duran fan? I just saw them in concert!
I love how it looks on Grece, the longer style. I'm thinking if I got this skirt I might go up a size so it sits lower on my hips and has the sane look as Grece. I'm 5'5".

Yes, I'm a Duranie for life!! I missed them when they came to Boston. I have gone to multiple concerts over the years but never saw the original lineup even when they got back together back in 2000. The last time (before now) they were in Boston Andy's father had passed away so he couldn't be there. I was so bummed because I was excited to see them all together again. How was the concert?!!!

I saw them back in June when they were in south Florida and had a blast so I decided to be spontaneous a couple of weeks ago and flew to Denver to see them again at Red Rock. I had never been there and it was a bucket list item plus my daughter recently m9ved 1.5 hours from Denver and I hadn't been to visit yet, so it killed a few birds with one stone. Red Rock was amazing. When I was a kid, I had DD posters all over my bedroom walls but had never seen them live until this year. Trying to recapture a piece of my childhood through nostalgia is always fun.

I tried this skirt on at Maje today (one of my favorite brands) and it kind of reminded me of the one you were discussing here. This one had a smocked part at the top and wasn't so straight across looking but was very full and similar length. I loved it!

So I have not had success finding any skirts yet; many of them are either very short or long neither of which looks good on me.
I did pull out some sweaters to try on with two skirts I do have and see if they match.
I'm not sure- what do you think?

I love all the sweaters....ruffles and poufy sleeves are literally 2 of my favorite things! That being said, I can see how the first skirt would look sharp with black but I like that you're trying to add some fun pops of color and think it looks fine with both. I actually really like the blue! Houndstooth pattern is very in right now. My girls wore much of it when we were in Paris a couple weeks ago and I just saw tons of it in Bloomingdale's the other day. That skirt would also look good with your red sweater. I also think the red sweater with the plaid skirt looks acceptable. From a distance, I actually thought the darker lines in the plaid were red until I zoomed in after you mentioned orange. I think bc that part of the orange appears darker, it blends together ok.

Way too long and full for me , but thank you
Honestly, it might be worthwhile to set aside some time and try on a variety of skirts. Or simply duplicate the cut and length of a favorite black skirt. Everyone has at least one ideal length and cut, the most forgiving generally a slight A line (whittles the waist and creates an hourglass effect that is easy to move in). A length around the knee is also pretty classic, but inches matter, so whether a bit above or below becomes very personal. I have a thicker waist and need to create the illusion of an hourglass, so a high waist with a dropped yoke or a thicker waistband that smooths out the lower tummy is a good idea for me. A lower waist on skirts or pants Simply lengthened my already long torso and shortened the leg. IMO only cut is as important as color. My most worn dress is black with small white polka dotTed knee length shift from Eileen fisher. (I only mention it here bc it reads as a skirt with a sweater on top, And, i dont otherwise wear much black as I prefer navy.
