Ame it's beautiful!!! Gorgeous setting and I kwym, it just looks huge!

Well at least you have the setting now... sorry you weren't over the moon about the stone. I feel you... my original ring was a beautiful .80 F colour but was SI2 and actually had eye-visible black dots in a little cluster and while you had to "look" for them, any close look and you'd eventually see it and it did bug me a bit. After doing all my research for this solitaire I had set my range for diamonds too... staying above VS2 seems to guarantee an eye clean diamond at the size you and I are looking at. I prioritized by cut, colour, then clarity, then size, staying over VS2 so I didn't have the same issue. I feel the same way - if it's eye clean, she's good enough for me!

You'll find your stone. Don't fret! I agree... if it is bugging you now you'll hate it in a year.

Speaking of rings... mine came in yesterday!!! I can't pick it up until tomorrow - boooo!!! Am sooooooooo excited!!! Will give me time to give myself a mini mani I guess so I can show you all!!! :) :)
YAAAAAAYYYYY!!!!!!!!! Can't wait!

I am looking forward to seeing this new stone's plot, for starters. I am hoping it is just little bits and blops and nothing big. If not, we'll keep on lookin'.

OK sorr y for being nosy but this sounds so interesting... share?!!

There's a poster over on Pricescope with the most amazing Fishtail Pave wedding set, and she's tired of it and is creating a new wedding set to look like the Tiffany Bezet engagement ring.

A depressing update:

The 1.18 was a Pass. It was perfect til I found out there were surface breaking inclusions. For a GIA VS2 that's not acceptable to me. Oh well. Keep looking.

Third one will be a charm AME, hang in there girl! You must be so frustrated... but your ring is going to be perfect when it's all said and done and you'll have it by thanksgiving I'm sure. This is part of the reason I just paid more out of pocket and bought from Tiffany's... I don't have the time or patience to go through designing the setting etc and I had no idea the STONE could be this complicated too! But your ring will be gorgeous when you're done so hang in there! :)

The setting and wedding band were the easy part. I knew pretty much what I was getting immediately, especially with the band. The setting didn't take too long either.

The stone i just hope is easy to find the 3rd time around. We're going to check every few days and see what pops up.

I am hopeful that the 3rd time IS the charm. I REALLY want to be done soon, without just settling. This is something I hope to never do again lol. Bec damn it's annoying and frustrating. Knowing too much is a serious detriment.

Another thing that's annoying--a few friends (both on and offline) either don't like this cut or don't get that the angles, etc are just like any other ideal cut diamond, so just running numbers is exactly the same as before, they just put extra faceting in it. And I guess because they don't get that or don't like it, I keep hearing about how I should abandon this cut for a regular H&A stone. I personally don't like "regular" rounds, H&A or otherwise, unless they are .33ct or less. They just are...I dare say...boring. I had this other cut for 6 years and that's so pleasing to my eye that a "regular" H&A is just not my thing. I am not going to change to conform to that like, and it's frustrating that people cannot get that.
