Hmmm...I'll look more at pictures here to see if I can figure it out. I imagine it would be difficult for you to tell from just a picture? It doesn't look like the same petrol as your IB that I found pics of and it's not as shiny as some other pics of petrol that I've found...it reminds me of a neutral blue like a pair of broken in jeans. I guess it doesn't really matter...I like it alot! Thanks for your help!

If the colour is not shiny and the leather is rather soft, I could think you had the sheen..Can you post pictures? If not I will dig out my travelset, in which I have both these leathers , take a pic so you can compare;)

my edit: I just found a pic of my Rock me in Petrol glossy..does this help you?

Frayed? Do you mean that the straps are fraying so threads are starting to form or is the bag overall looking a bit scuffed and tired?

I used Leather Honey successfully on all my bags including the sheen leather - it works a treat!

It does NOT look like your petrol glossy. I will try to post pics soon. It's so grey here and I really need good, natural lighting to get correct colors in my pics as my camera is just a point and shoot. ;) Based on your pictures and Vanessa's description (and yours too, of course), I would guess you are right and I have sheen. Were there different "editions" of sheen thru the years?

Jen, petrol sheen was originally called petrol glossy but then BE found a newer, tougher, more durable leather and called that petrol glossy. I found my petrol sheen bag quite difficult to photograph when I decided to let it go. I'll be interested to see yours when the weather co-operates!

Yes, this is a very clear colour , and personally I don't mind the broken down look! :pYou can try and buff the leather up with some lotion..

Do you recommend any in particular? I've never used any on my bags. The only one I have is the Coach leather moisturizer. Do you think this would work? I am scared of ruining the bag with the wrong product. :sweatdrop:

TIA

I would say more like scuffed and tired - and the handles look the most worn.

I just found the leather honey on amazon and the pics posted there by a buyer were encouraging. Wish I could see yourbefore and after. :smile1: Thanks for the info, VanBod:excl:

I use a non-scent, neural product from Denmark. Why don't you try a bit on the tag and check if it works? Sheen and matte leathers will benefit lots from a spa treatment:smile1:
Have in mind to stuff the bag while the lotion is working, this will keep the shape very nicely!

The type VanB is using sounds good as well..

O wow, I would have never thought to stuff the bag while the lotion is working. Makes sense. Thanks!
