What? A Price Increase?

SAs @ wall street just told me 2 weeks until price increase - allegedly 8% on leather goods . . . . so naturally, i just *had* to buy something today :p

Again, the information is inconsistent. 8500 and 9100 for 30 and 35 birkins respectively is not 8%, its just under 10%. So is leather going up 8% or 10%? I wish Hermes would get the story straight and just tell us the bad news and get it over with!

A friend of mine came back from Argentina sometime back told of a story where back in October 2007, the prices of tomatoes were going up by 50%. The president (President Nestor Kirchner) went on tv and said " "Don't buy from those people who for seasonal reasons are trying to rob us. There are sectors ... that want to increase earnings without increasing their production."

..... well, if fans were to group together and stop buying from Hermes - you might get the desired effect. But the truth of the matter is that all Hermes bag owners welcome the news of a price increase - it may give a sense that the bag you have is not only still very much in demand, but has actually increased in value.
