I've done the Self diet challenge before and lost 15 lbs on it... which I later gained back after moving in with my S.O. and all of his carb loaded food.

My mother and sister (who stuck to and made a lifestyle change with it have both lost 30 lbs and have kept it off for 9 months. Definitely a good program!!
 
I need motivation..... I wish I could hold myself to a rewards system. I gained a bunch of weight since I'm not dancing anymore, and I really need to figure out a way to reverse that!! Post other ideas ladies, I think I may join some sort of challenge here too?? Do you mind sweetmelissa??

Of course not! Join me, it will help me to be more motivated too. I think I did fairly well this weekend. Saturday I took my son to his friend's first birthday party and of course that was difficult. I did eat a piece of fried chicken BUT I did not have even one potato chip (they are my big downfall!). I also only at a few bites of cake and afterward I stopped off at Marshalls and TJ Maxx to walk off a little, and to check for Coach of course!

Yesterday, we went out to eat after church since dh had a meeting and it was silly to drive home in between. Again, that was difficult since it was a buffet full of fatty foods but I tried to make the best choices. And I did not have desert. Plus, I have not touched the ice cream that dh bought on Friday. Go me!! :wlae:

I did not lose ANY weight at all this past week-I weigh exactly the same :sad:

I really thought I'd lose a pound or two! I worked out with weights and aerobically 4 days. I tried hard to eat well. :shrugs: Gah, this is just impossible! I'm NEVER going to get to go to the outlet :crybaby: :crybaby: :crybaby:

I'm so discouraged now.

dont get discouraged! if you are weight training then you are replacing muscle for fat and that will acutally weigh more. your best gaduge is how your clothes fit. check out the health and fitness section for a lot of advice and encouragement! good luck!
 
Thanks Cindy. Maybe I shouldn't do the weights so much right now then-I need to LOSE weight. Not only because dh will take me shopping but because I am overweight. It doesn't look good and it isn't good for me either. I just cannot get over the fact that there was no change at all :sad:
 
Don't get discouraged! The weight training is very very good for you and it actually burns calories at a faster rate than aerobics does.

I have lost 70 pounds and I owe a great deal of it to SparkPeople.com. Try it out - it's free and they offer meal plans, message boards, calorie counters, workouts, etc.

Give it a try. When I lost my 50 pounds I got the bag that is in my avatar. It was my first Coach. You can totally do it!
