i never wear it at home, only put it on when i leave the house. if i'm just running to the store or going to the gym i don't put it on but if i'm going to work or out than i put it on.
This is the same for me. Sometimes I am so busy with my toddler that I forget to put it on when going to work/out. I don't think there are any rules.... just do whatever you feel comfortable with. I can't imagine wearing my Tiffany engagement ring and wedding band and doing the dishes etc...

I never take mine off. Ever.
A quick scary story. My bff growing up married a jeweler so she had a magnificent 5 carat emerald cut stunner as an ER. She summers at the Jersey Shore and has lots of kids. She regularly took off the ring to smear sunscreen on the kids because it got her ring gunked up. She always carefully laid it on the towel and always replaced it after she finished with the kids. One time she looked down and the ring was gone! Long story short...they looked for days, scoured the shoreline, hired professional metal-detector guys, everything. She still thinks to this day that a seagull picked it up and simply flew away with it.
I'm just sharing because she told me to never ever take my ER off....she said lotion can be cleaned, settings can be remounted but the heartache of knowing SHE lost the diamond was too painful.

And that is exactly why, I am very hesitant about wearing my 2ct solitaire. Its a Tiffany, and I would hate myself if I'd ever lose it and I do have a habit of removing rings when applying lotion, handling my kids esp washing them up, cooking, even eating (LOL). I'd rather leave it home then wear it and take it off. And on the days I do wear it, I always end up taking the ring box with me just in case.

I used to forget to wear my engagement ring all the time... at the time had a young child, looked after the home ect so would often forget after applying cream and In the mornings, so as a wedding present to my husband whom used to moan about it I got his initials tattooed on my ring finger ! When I wear my rings you cannot see it , but when I forget to put them on I have my tattoo!

I almost never wear my engagement or wedding ring unless there was an event i.e. Dinner party, outing with friends, or time with family. I don't really need a ring to let other people know I am not available. I realize this is not proper etiquette but I am not such a traditional person by any means.

i'd say i always wear my rings unless i'm home, forget to put them on before leaving the house, going to the gym, or going to a job interview. it's not comfortable to wear during most daily activities or chores, and at an interview, i wouldn't want to reveal any info on my marital or financial status.

That's so interesting. I have heard this before but didn't have my ring back when I was interviewing for jobs. I am currently in a PhD program and never thought twice about wearing my wedding set or other jewelry to school until one of my students said something to the effect of "Well, do you really need it?" while staring at my hand when I mentioned that I had to write a scholarship application over the weekend. All of my nice pieces are gifts from my husband or parents, but I am responsible for paying my own tuition and expenses while I am in this program so yes, I DO need the scholarships. I know this in my own mind, so it never occurred to me what message I might be sending to others through my jewelry.

I don't sleep in my jewelry but I always keep my wedding rings in their special place in my jewelry box. Because my fingers will swell, I don't usually wear them around the house, cleaning & doing household chores. I do wear them when I go out, unless my fingers are swollen & they're hard to get on. I have a wide 2ct diamond & baguette band I wear on those occassions. I also have my husbands name tattooed on my ring finger.
