Wedding Band Dilemma

Correction to one of my previous posts (#21 in this thread).

After reviewing my air headed math skills, I realized that I incorrectly stated that 1.8mm is 33% more that 1.2mm. I should have correctly stated that 1.8mm is 50% more that 1.2mm. Oops, sorry if I caused any confusion with that mistake.

I still believe that the 1.8mm would blend well with your wedding set; however, it is larger than I was first thinking. As you mentioned above, trying a 1.8mm ring on locally is an excellent idea.

It’s ok. I didn’t realize that because I was never good in math. :giggle: I’ll definitely try something locally after your suggestion!

marialc121, you have really good taste in rings! All three of these options are really pretty. That said, the third is my favorite; so here is my slightly biased opinion of each:

The first one is elegant and classic. It appears to be an exact match to your wedding set, while showcasing a flawless example of metal mixing.

The second one is an eye-catcher. When I first saw the photo I thought that you had put three rings together to make a five ring stack. After reanalyzing I concluded that it is probably just one ring. With most designs, I would probably think that the width of the second option is too wide in comparison to your wedding set; however, since it can appear to be three ring, I think it looks like an eye-catching ring stack. While this is my least favorite of the three, it is still quite beautiful.

The third one is an example of perfection! (Ok, I warned you that I was biased.) I like the fact that the pink gold band is wider than the white metal bands since there are two of the white metal bands and only one of the pink gold. I also really like the look of these two different diamond settings together. The third is a unique ring stack that blends together perfectly. Another flawless example of metal (and diamond setting) mixing.

All three examples are gorgeous! Which one looks and feels the best to you?

Thank you so much for your kind words and feedback! :hugs:

I also appreciate you for taking the time to analyze each band with my wedding set. It is definitely very useful and gives me a better perspective of what I want.

I love both the first and third one! The second one is beautiful but better worn alone.

As for the first band, I think it’s more subtle and showcases my engagement ring, whereas, I love how the third band looks different from my current rings and makes my wedding set more interesting.

My DH likes the first one because he likes simple designs.

I’m torn between both now! :confused1:

I prefer the first option: very beautiful, a subtle difference but still noticable enough. Also the main focus remains on your engamentring. I like the third too, but somehow the first makes more sense and looks more balanced. The third looks more like an afterthought, adding another ring, the first looks meant to be somehow. Let us know what you pick!

Ps and what a gorgeous set it already is!!

I'm usually a matchy matchy person so you would think I like the first the most, but I love the third!! It's a great combo and really stands out. But... I think the first is nore timeless and would 'age' better.

I would definitely put a considerable amount of weight on your husband's opinion. Chances are, he knows you better than anyone else.

I was also able to think of one advantage that the first option has. Since it is the thinnest ring, it leaves the most finger room for future additions. ;)

Thank you for your feedback and for your compliments on my set! :flowers:

Thank you! I’m the opposite and prefer not to be match matchy but I love the first band because like you said, it puts focus on my ering and may be more timeless.

My DH is not really good with design or jewelry so most of the time he will get my opinion on what I want. But in this case, it’s an anniversary present and he wanted to add a band to my set to represent our DS, whom I gave birth to last year.

I also love the idea of being able to add more in the future! :graucho: Good thinking!
