I only did it for the few days after I got the band. Then, I put it away. I want it to be special; for me, if I wear it before the wedding, I would not associate it as a wedding band. I would think it is just a pretty ring on my finger.
I did just for an hour right after we picked up the wedding bands. I was so excited that I remember driving home with the band on but once inside the house I put it away until our wedding day.
I did not. I felt like it should be saved for the wedding day. You get to wear it the rest of your life! It's something special to look forward to on the day. I sometimes think my solitaire looks even more special without the band b/c it stands on it's own and just screams "I'm engaged!" When I got engaged it was a surprise (we'd been dating a year and a bit but I wasn't expecting it and we didn't go ring shopping or anything) so I still remember the giddy feeling of staring at just the e-ring and taking in what that meant... THEN taking in the band when that was added too!
My husband and I were married through the court first and I told him I didn't want a wedding band until we married through the church so I wore my engagement ring alone.
We finally got married through the church this past november and he upgraded me to a new engagement ring and two wedding bands. One to symbolize our first ceremony and the other for our second. I didn't wear the bands although I did wear my new engagement several times before the wedding.
I was traveling from the U.S to Greece for my wedding so I was wearing it while traveling. As soon as I arrived in Greece though it was in the box until the wedding day!
Why would you wear it before the wedding? It isn't a "wedding" band that way, it's just a ring. I know everyone's religions and customs are different, but I would think it should be saved until the wedding day. No I would never wear it before then, save for trying it on to make sure it fits.
