I have a gold knife edge tiffany band I wear when we travel. Reason being is like others, we walk around a lot, take public transport, and generally like to check out the less than touristy areas. While i think Paris is generally safe, I hate having any kind of attention drawn to me, especially being a tourist, so I leave the bling at home. So much better not having to worry about jewelry.

Born and raised in a big city, I 'm always aware of my surroundings. That means I don't spend my time chatting on Viber, or with my earphones on etc, I don't let little Roma kid's and their accomplishes pick my bags and pockets, I don't chat with strangers. That said, the only place in the world I was robbed was in Paris 15 years ago, late at night because I was too cheap to call a taxi and decided to take the metro. They just wanted money so it was over in seconds. But it could be avoided.
