Does anyone else feel guilty about the amount of clothes, shoes, and handbags they own and haven’t used or wore in years? I’m in the middle of cleaning out my closet, and notice how many things I own, and still love but just don’t wear. Personally, I feel like the pandemic has destroyed my sense of style and fashion.

Which lead me to create this post. Is there anyone else feeling the same way, and perhaps interested in creating a fashion challenge in which we would essentially be shopping our own closet. Maybe we could select 2-4 items from ea. category; garments, shoes, handbags, accessories, jewelry, etc. that we may never used or worn, or just been sitting for years. Perhaps, we could style these items alone or with other pieces we wear often. ‍♀️ Any thoughts or ideas?

I think this challenge could be really fun ladies and gents

@Timeless Classic Chic I’m in! I like the way that you said the pandemic “destroyed your sense of fashion and style”.

I work in healthcare but am able to wear regular clothing, not scrubs or a uniform. Before we knew much about COVID I stopped taking my nicer bags to work. Now I could use my nicer bags again but for some reason I haven’t been, laziness perhaps. I used to accessorize with scarves but stopped wearing those too as they need to be dry cleaned (I am not brave enough to hand wash them). I definitely want to wear my scarves again.

I now mainly cycle through a few favorite outfits that look nice but my other things stay in my closet. It’s very easy for me to do this but fairly boring and uninspiring too. I think that this might be what I need to use some of my unused items and become creative again.

Hi Mimmy! I am so excited for you. Your story sounds very familiar. I recently read a few articles by fashion influencers and editors saying they feel the same way. It seems like we all might have lost a little piece of ourselves these last few years.

If you get the courage to hand wash your scarves. Try your least favorite one. I typically fill the basin with warm water and a capful or two of wool lite, dip them a few times to my satisfaction (brush out any stains and or make-up with remover or shout it out), and hang dry them. If silk, I wouldn't recommend wringing them. You can always steam them after they dry.

It feels really good getting back to what makes us happy, special, and unique- the essences of who we really are.

Aww, Mimmy- simply gorgeous. You must share tomorrow how you felt wearing them again.
I will! It will help if those of us who participate on this thread do the same.

I have to admit that I may have an ulterior motive as well. I really cannot justify buying any more clothing or accessories if I already have so many that are not being worn.

I have done the one in and one out, gifted and donated things too. When I recently looked in my closet again I found that I liked what was left and couldn’t justify giving those things away. At the moment I am tired of selling also.

Thank you for the scarf washing tips also. Fortunately none need cleaning right now, haven’t been wearing them much but I do love my Shout!

Yay! That's awesome. I am guilty too. I have a few things on my list, but can't justify the purchase until I wear what I have, and get rid of a few things I don't need or want. I will post as well. Hope others who are in the same perdicament feel inspired to join  The more the merry.

This thread appears under the topic Louboutin Shopping. Do you think if you ask a mod to move it to the general Wardrobe and Accessories section, more people might see it? Just a thought.

Honestly, I don’t know how ‍♀️
The easiest way would be to click on the 3 dots below any of your posts. An option to report will come up. Click on that and you can then type “hey would you please move this thread to the general wardrobe and accessories section?” This way any mod who sees the request could move it.

I really think that this thread could end up being an active one if people came across it!
