I have a question: I sprayed my Watersnake Dafs as soon as I got them (they were perfect in store) and I just wore them and either the shoes shrunk after spraying or my feet are swollen because the shoes are tight. And it's not like I've been on my feet all day either - wore them to a late brunch. I know that they'll stretch eventually but I was wondering if this is just me or if others also noticed a change.

Spraying won't affect sizing at all.

your feet change in size throughout the day, from water retention, diet, temperature, etc. i am sure it had nothing to do with your spraying. i notice my shoes fit me differently at different times.

yes it's those! Wow your's look incredibly white! that's nat!!! i'll send them later i really appreciate the help :hugs:

Ok, you have my email so send pics to me and I'll tell you the best course of action.

The pic I attached is one that I just took a few weeks ago. Which is about 8 months to a year since I bought them. So, you can see how well the Meltonian and brushing the dirt out worked.

I just sold them to a bride to be and they were as stark white as the day I got them. The Talco is very soft so, I want to see the dirt before I recommend a professional cleaning because everytime you have to professionally clean Talco, Opaco, Nabuck snake, it makes it lay down more.

Definately don't spray them with dirt on them or you'll set the dirt. We'll figure it out. :hugs:

thanks ladies -- I know my feet swell more in the evening but it was around 2pm and we'd just gotten up so I was shocked by how much the size seems to change. Either way, Meltonian is amazing - the shoes look spectacular :D

Awww...PyAri...that is so sweet. I am happy to help my TPF family and I adore you all. Thank you for the appreciation. That's good enough for me.:hugs:
:hugs:

I finally sprayed my Watersnake Harswick VPs last night so that I can wear them today for the first time since I've owned them (~June '10!) and must say am very happy with the results. Nat you did not steer me wrong. They are just as white as they were before spraying as they were after. I will take pics today when I do a second coat. Thank you Nat, you definitely are a angel for giving me and many others the ability to wear our shoes with a little more confidence. :flowers:

bumping up for all the girls who just got exotics ... there are quite a few of you! and also for me as I think I want to spray again.

I think I have to search thru this thread; Did Nat mention a procedure for exotic conditioning?

I ordered some Meltonian online ... gonna take FOREVER for them to deliver it to me. =/

Should've read the feedback more carefully. All positives but the comments themselves say "shipping is slow".

Candy-I wouldn't use a powder brush because is has a curve to it. You want to use a flat brush. I would look for a facial brush. Like you would use if you were giving yourself an at home facial. That's for exotics. I'm attaching a link for an example.
This is like the one I use.

For suedes, use a stiffer brush. I actually just use the brush that comes from my cobbler that is an actual suede brush.

Just threw that facial brush in my cart ... thanks Nat.

I am going to order the conditioner for my WS Bianca's ... again, thanks Nat.

Question on Suede brushing, there are 2 sides of the brush, the actual side which removes the dirt then the other side to smooth the suede, which direction should I be brushing the suede up? or down? or does it matter?

With suede, you want to brush down once and up once. It fluffs it up. Also, you will invariably get scuff marks on your suede, especially on the heels. Make sure you brush those out as soon as you take them off.

I think I mentioned that I get marks on my heels from, eehhem, sitting on bar stools. You want to brush those out when you take the shoes off. Also, when you wear booties and don't take them off to drive. If you read back, you'll see my trick of using a satin pillow case or piece of satin cloth under your heels in the car.

Hope that helps.

Thanks ... yes, I re read the entire thread before posting. I don't drive in my heels (none of them whether they are $ 1,000.00 or $ 100.00) as I have long legs as it is and in 5" and 6" heels it makes it virtually impossible (and dangerous) so that's not a worry but the once up and once down I didn't know so I thank you :worthy:

Hi Nat,

I have just received my meltonian and have already sprayed my powder pink watersnake rosella flats with perfect results :smile1:

Next up are my black suede biancas - unfortunately I have managed to get blister block on the suede on one of the toes, its hardly noticeable but of course I want to get it off before I spray with meltonian! Is suede shampoo the best way forward here?

Ive added some pics but it is really hard to see in real life and even harder to capture on camera....

TIA A xx
