Submariner is common but holds its value better than Explorer or even Yachtmaster. If you like something different and not bothered with resale value, my pick is Yachtmaster. Or the real low key Oyster Perpetual, not as sporty though.

Yay, but the price is way too high. $15k or so? I’m a big fan of vintage dress watches. Smaller size looks better to me (32-36mm).

These are about 7k in the preowned market at 37mm. The new Overseas at 41mm are over the 15k range.

Sinn makes a nice looking sports watch and it is at an affordable price. Also, Doxa divers look interesting too. Rolex Submariner - expensive and too common.

My latest acquisition: a vintage Vacheron - only 25x25mm but I love it. Vintage watches are the best deal out there.

Hmmm. The Patek is a wild-card because it's a dress watch, and the others are sport watches (that you can dress up, of course).
