If you have classics you love (the Tiffany necklace and diamond studs), I say go for an item type you don't already have, but would like to have. Even if you can't wear it all the time. (Work is really only just part or you life :smile1:). My vote is for a classic watch. You mentioned your new fortune was inherited - perhaps a sentimental piece to memorialize the one who left the inheritance?

My favorite, have stood the test of time pieces include: My Tag Heuer - it went with me to the oil fields, overseas, and it is still with me and still looks amazing. My Tiffany large link toggle - I got it years later, but wear it with my Tag and I love it. My Kristina Nicole necklace - I won it for a story I wrote about my mother, so it is sentimental to me. :)

Best of luck finding that special piece!!

Personally I would go for a classic watch (Cartier, Jaeger Le Coultre, Omega, Patek Philippe, Ulysse Nardin, etc - not a fan of Rolex personally) as something that will stand the test of time assuming you dont go for oversized or white ceramic etc.

Alternatively go for some straight forward diamond jewellery like diamonds by the yard or a solitaire necklace.

Again being a british traditionalist I wouldn't include an eternity ring or anything else for your left ring finger in your considerations.

I like the idea of a watch. I have been tempted by a Cartier Ballon Bleu in the past and have also seen some beautiful Longines watches recently. I am like you in that I wouldn't buy a ring for my left ring finger. Maybe a pretty right hand ring but I already have quite a few which I rotate on days off.

Here are my suggestions:

- A classic watch - doesn't have to be a Rolex - there are other premier watch brands like Omega and Tag Heuer which have some lovely models that are a little more affordable and you could then get something else with the rest of the money, depending on what your total budget is.

- A diamond eternity band - this could be layered with your wedding rings or worn on its own as a right hand ring. I have one and it is my favourite piece of jewellery.

- A diamond or diamond/gemstone pendant in whatever metal colour you favour - since you wear silver it sounds like you prefer white metals. You can get lots of suggestions on here for vendors to go through to buy it. Tiffany's pieces are beautiful but you could get more for your money elsewhere. Kiki McDonough has some lovely pieces made with gemstones and diamonds or Blue Nile is great for building your own diamond solitaire pendant through their online tool.

A Cartier Love bracelet or cuff is also a lovely choice but personally I think one of the above choices would be more versatile and a better long-term investment/staple for your collection. Depending on what makes you choose and what your budget is you could also get two of the above. Based on what you have said I think a necklace/pendant would be your best bet as you can wear it all the time irrespective of work.

Can't wait to see what you choose :smile1:

I am now thinking about a watch and maybe a nice pendant. I already have a couple of nice diamond eternity bands which i wear on my right hand. I do like the look of Cartier love bracelets but not on myself. I would find it a pain to keep taking it on and off! Xx

He he, I know what you mean! Have you considered the cuff -it looks the same but as there is a small opening so you can take it on and off. I'm planning to buy one myself soon as I like the idea of being able to remove it when I want to! X

I think a Cartier Ballon Bleu is just perfect :D

And maybe a diamond solitaire necklace of a reasonable size and ideal cut to amp up the wow factor?

I would recommend a classic diamond solitaire necklace. you can wear it everyday and you'll get so much mileage out of this purchase!

my second option would be a tennis bracelet or platinum or YG dbty bracelet but if you cannot wear bracelets at work you wont get enough wear to invest in a piece like this imo....

I agree with Candice! A classic solitaire is perfection... get it as big as you can with the best cut possible and you'll love it forever. Candice and I are big fans of the YG DBTY "Tiffany" style ... so far I can't say enough good things about the customer service at Brian Gavin jewellers online and their DBTY is beautiful, just as dainty and pretty as Tiffany's and you can choose your diamond with him as well!

I actually hadn't looked at the cuffs. Will do that today :)

I'm also going to try to find some modelling photos of some Ballon Bleu watches to see what the sizes are like.
