I have a new to me courier and took it on it's first flight last week, what a perfect travel bag!I'm surprised how many people are drawn to the caramels! of course I love them, but (as is obvious) I love the bright colors. The bright colors are what originally drew me to Balenciaga.
My favorite all around go-to is the RT Day, though that can change depending on what I'm doing. For going out, I like the City or First. I really do love the First, but sometimes they're not roomy enough so I double bag them as I showed in this ancient thread http://forum.purseblog.com/threads/decos-new-double-bagging-style.401376/. For vacations, my go to is a metallic Day. I prefer them for vacations because the leather on the old metallics is more resilient and I won't freak out if water gets on them. My airplane carry on favorite is the Courier, and for work I actually like the Work. My laptop and papers fit perfectly in them.
There was an almost pristine RT Day earlier this year on eBay... the gal found it at an estate sale...I hesitated and it went like THATThanks for posting the pics of your RT Day! It is magnificent! I think RT rarely ever comes up for sale, especially the RT Day (which is a bummer for us newbies).
This is so true. It was Eggplant fever! Those were the days of the insane bidding wars, and it was not unusual for Eggplant cities to go for over $2600. Mind you, this is back when full retail price of the city was $1200. To this day it's my favorite Bal color. Photos don't do it justice. I will post some Eggplant close ups tomorrow.hehehe, i remember it use to be all about the EGGPLANT!!!! It's such an awesome colour!!!!
The Bal Queen!GORGEOUS collection, and so good to see another "oldie" (and I don't mean age here!) .. member like myself! So many of us have 'moved on', but there are still a few of us that still cherish/love our Bal bags! HA - oh yeah, I remember those bidding wars days .. so it really pains me nowadays when I see some major HG pieces going for all-time low $$$.
How could an eggplant not be desirable? I'm drooling. The leather is divine.
The Bal Queen!
I moved on from posting here because my collection was complete, and I wanted to stop tempting myself with more goodies, because let's face it, the temptations keep coming. I then added 5 moto jackets to my collection, and I really, really need to stop now. I've been pretty good the last couple of years, but I still love my Bals, all of them. I didn't move on to a different brand. I'm still a Bal girl. My love for Bal bags has endured, and I'm glad for every bag in my collection. No regrets, other than selling some pieces I now wish I hadn't.
At one point I thought I should trim down my collection because I have baby now and should free up funds for more important things. Then I thought that my girl might appreciate having these bags one day, so I should keep them for her in case she has an interest. I don't know if 2004 Eggplant will be desirable in 20 years, but how could it not be, right?![]()
I'm always on the lookout for Dark Turq. I think a lot of people are.yeah that's the stuff i'm talking about @Decophile Oh yeah show me the EGGPLANT!!!!
@CeeJay - I'll always LOVE the cherve leather too. Bbags will always have my hearttheres no doubt about it, but after all these years - I think it's time to bite the bullet and get a CHANEL
