Hi all,
I'll be in Paris start of September hoping to score a Kelly. I don't have any specific requirement in terms of leather or colour. Do you think I'll have a good chance? Also, is there currently a waitlist for a Kelly bag in Paris? TIA :smile1:

Hi! If you read around you'll find that many of us have had different experiences in Paris... Usually a Kelly is easier to find than a Birkin however lately the inventories have been quite limited even in the Paris boutiques. You have to try your luck at all 3 shops, starting early in the morning when they open...

If you don't find what you're looking for it is a good idea to establish a good relationship with an SA there and at the end of your stay in Paris go back, and ask if there is any way you could put your name down for what you want. In my case it has worked a few times, even when the "lists" weren't open.

Another thing to note is that depending what week in September you're there you may stumble upon Fashion Week (I think it is at the end of the month but please check) which means that the shops are full of customers (even more so than usual) and the stocks are super low.

Good luck!

Thanks for your help LittleH. I'm planning to check out all 3 stores. I'm also going to a few other cities in Europe. So hopefully if not Paris, then maybe Vienna or Rome etc. Fingers crossed!

Also because the French are on holiday in August, it's my understanding that there is very little, if any, new inventory going into stores during this month.

fashion week is usually last week of september/first week of October.

Mistikat: I would imagine that August would have really low inventory but I'm sure they would have more in September. Not only is it fashion week but it's also " La Rentrée" when everyone in France returns from vacation.

However, the recent theft of Hermès bags might have a major effect on the amount of inventory at the stores in Paris. Regardless, enjoy your trip! :D

Frankly, the chance is very slim....I was in Paris in mid-June for 4 days and gone to the shop everyday and NO LUCK.....simply too many tourists......Good Luck!

Wow, we read that stock was low in Jun & July. Now the French are on hols in Aug & chances are still bad in Sep due to influx of tourists for Fashion week. It seems that there is never a gd time to score a H bag in Paris, how depressing!!!

That is definitely upsetting news. I'm going to be in Paris the beginning of September as well.. I suppose we'll just have to hope for the best!

Yeah I called FSH & George V yesterday and they had no stock. I asked if i could put in a special order but they said that they can't do that. Hmm...i wonder if i'll have a better chance in Amsterdam, Prague or Vienna...

wow... a bit depressing...
was in rome / london in may and nothing!!!:shrugs:

will be in germany/ paris in may again, 2012...... let us see then!:sweatdrop:

This will be my first H bag.. mostly have clic clacs...
Didn't know it is this difficult....

But, i have decided for the past 4 weeks that i won't let this put me down... as its still just a BAG... and ive quite succeeded in repressing it... unless of course when im on TPF... maybe the next thing i need to repress is visiting TPF???!!!:p:p

I can imagine, if i did.... i will probably end up with a cleaner, organized house, closet, kids' rooms, hanging notes in my computer locked and finished, laundry done and folded, cars washed and cleaned, etc....:idea:

But, can i stay away? probably not...

off to calling hermes store in canada...:winkiss:

I was put on the list in September '09. We were there late in the month. Our bag arrived last April. It was Evergrain, but our SA told us that we could get a Togo in approximately 6 mos.

Best of luck to you! Go back and check the store multiple times. Know what you want also. If you get a rude SA who tells you the list is closed, come back another time. Persistence pays off.

I was in Paris late July and got a birkin on my last day there. It was rather depressing as I went everyday for 3 days, spoke to many SAs and bought a lot, yet it was always a NO. I'll just say persistency pays off and if one SA doesn't work, dont be afraid to try another. Good luck!

true for factories and normal companies not true concerning Hermes, chanel or LV, believe me,

Hermes stocks are low because it's the time, frequent customers on waiting list received the bags ordered. usually they have minimum 20 BK on stocks, the fact is that they show them if and when they want^^
