There will Have to be an announcement soon, surely, as the upcoming Spring/Summer 2025 collection will be shown in Paris in September ???
Most collections being shown are already 1-2 years in the pipeline so VV would likely still have had enough groundwork and direction for Chanel to work on at least for a few more seasons. However, I recall in the 7 days out film, the creative director would do a lot of editing before an upcoming show. So don’t hold your breath yet. LV men’s took about 2 years to announce a new director after Virgil. And look at Celine, Heidi has been rumoured to have left for about over 7 months now… with no clear indication to date

Yes, you are totally correct …only Karl could conjure up a collection in a fortnight out of nothing..

I guess I’m just too eager to find out ..

I never thought VV deserved all the vitriol she got. She was probably not given as free a rein with respect to creative direction or budget. And, she was probably told to make the collections as financially successful as possible which she did. It didn’t sound like she was forced out. And, since I dislike change, I think for whomever steps up, there will be a steep learning curve. This summer, I picked up a few RTW purchases that are all very wearable and flattering: a long line denim vest; a pair of black floral denim jeans; a knee length double breasted coat with a bit of sparkle; plus, more recently, a pair of t strap satin shoes with camellia details. Not groundbreaking, but she knew and respected the DNA of the maison. Not to mention, KL had quite a few misses himself. I will miss her.
