The serial number on my coach is. No - 8723. How can i find out info about it

Please see our answers in the Authenticate This Coach thread that you also posted in. Your serial number indicates the bag is NOT a genuine Coach but we still need to see photos.

BTW, I posted an answer at the Authenticate thread even before you asked the same question of another member in a private message. Please don't post the same question in more than one place without giving the members a chance to answer your question or without going back to your earlier post to check for an answer. "Cross-posting" just leads to confusion, that's why it's discouraged by most forums and message boards.

Thankyou so much for sharing this with me.she does have a serial number, but it's one of the glued on ones, and the "COACH" on the Creed has a little® next to it.would that probably make it late 70's or early 80's? I really appreciate your time and help
You're welcome. That's right. There is a discussion earlier in this thread where we discuss the time frame for glued in serial numbers with the copyright symbol. In my opinion and from the experiences of others on the forum, we believe it is around 1980-1983. There are some blogs that claim earlier dates for these.

I have an old NYC bag, but the leather is super stiff, like I'm popping a plastic bottle, stiff. I tried cleaning it and putting leather honey on it, but still stiff.. I couldn't find a guide for what soap to use, besides dawn, on soaking it, but apparently bunny has a good guide (if I could find it)... should I soak it or just add more conditioner?

You need to dunk it in warm water and let it soak for about a half hour. Start conditioning before the bag is completely dry. The bath helps open up the pores so the conditioner can soak in.

Does anyone know if this works on Dooney Florentine leather, too? I pulled out my baby pink bag for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and it looked like it could use some plumping. I've had the bag for a few years and haven't worn it and it has seen some heat/cold where i store them. May not have been the best place for it but wondering if super moisturizing would help it. Thank you!

Wait for someone more familiar with Dooney Florentine leather. I've only worked on vintage Dooney AWL, and I don't remember if I have dunked any.

I have washed several Florentine bags. I put my method over in the Dooney rehab thread, which you may find useful. Unless it’s really dirty, usually just two or three coats of Leather CPR will perk Florentine right up. Ive found they tend to dry out quickly for some reason. :)

I think it is a nickname because it is so hard to find.

Makes sense to me! So kind of on the same level as the Holy Grail, and just about as hard to find.

Uuummmmm, doesn't the legend say that the finding and capturing of a unicorn can only be done by a virgin? I hope we have some qualified candidates available here. We'll let you vet the applicants, Whateve - and thanks for "volunteering"!

lol, you found one, didn't you?!! Maybe you are more qualified.

I have a current AND an ex-husband as well as (COUGH) several "others" who would be happy to testify about my total lack of any qualifications for the position. Don't ask me how that red bag I found or that found me managed to make it through the filters. Guess we'll have to keep looking. :giggle:
