I think it must have had feet. It looks like it should have striped lining too. Coach is making bags this season that look a lot like this but they are in printed leather.

It would need a cross body strap too. And be a little bit bigger!

since i don't know where else to ask this, i hope it's okay here. if not, i apologize. i really enjoy seeing the awesome old catalogs and the original photos that some of you post. i don't plan on collecting them, i'm just curious how you've come across them? and what the heck is the web archive/way back machine?

Most of mine are pictures I've collected from various online sources. I have a couple of the mini catalogs that Coach used to include with every purchase. They came with purses I bought on ebay.

The web archive/wayback machine is the Internet Archive: http://archive.org/web/
They have archives of old web pages for tons of websites. You just put in the site you want to look at and it gives you a calendar.
For Coach, you get this: http://wayback.archive.org/web/19970401000000*/http://coach.com
As you can see, the earliest Coach web pages are from 1997. There are some periods of time that aren't accessible at all or some that used links that link to the current website. There are some where you can get a page of stuff but the links for individual items doesn't work so you can't see the style numbers or prices. It takes a lot of time to find specific things on there so if I find something I want to remember, I'll copy it to my computer.
