Currently listing a few bags that I don't really use much and want to male sure that I have to date correct on my red city.
If I remember correctly, @whateve was the one who authenticated this one, but I can't remember if she said 94 or 2000?...I think it was 2000 as this one has edgecote.

Thank you....
I really should written those down...I thought I had!
2004. It is a known mistake that the Costa Rican plant made. There are several ways to tell the difference. Nickel hardware wasn't available in 1994. The Costa Rican plant wasn't yet open. Most 1994 creeds had the old creed wording with the "made in" at the bottom.

I'm glad I asked.
Thanks for that.
I'm really getting my bags confused with the dates.
I listed my city Willis which is a 2000...think that is why I put that...even thought it's clearly a 4 in the creed.
I think I need a drink.

Does anyone have a list of the Hippie Flaps and the available colors? I just discovered the mini version recently, and there is a wide version too. I can't find anything showing the colors that it was made in.

Here are a few I know about. The middle one top row is 9473 Chelsea Hippie medium flap. In the second to last picture top left, Chelsea hippie flap is #9457. As far as colors, the only non neutral I remember seeing them in is red, possibly a burgundy.

2001 Holiday Preview shows the #9134 Hippie Flap and #9135 Small Hippie Flap as "New". Both were available in Black, Camel, Mahogany and Dark Grey. #9135 was available in Red also. Catalog photo attached.

I have #9457 Chelsea Hippie Zip in Smoke and #9458 Chelsea Hippie Flap in Black, but haven't found a catalog photo of either style listing the available colors. (At the time my #9457 was authenticated in tPF, it was determined that the color was "Smoke" per the 2000 Holiday catalog, but I was never able to find it in that catalog. Not sure if the color was called Smoke for some Chelsea versions and Dark Grey for others.)

Thank you! They had a dark grey one in the 9135/9131 on the goodwill site. It looked legit but I haven't seen grey before. It didn't look like faded black either, but cameras are deceiving. I missed the auction, NBD, but it sparked my curiosity as to how many colors are out there.

I have the 9135 in red so I know that is a color, and I think it was authenticated here, not sure though because I can't remember. That era of Costa Rican stamps is pretty distinct. I love the shape of these and the mini is adorable so I may have collected a few. I have a mini in a cream color. I haven't authenticated it though. I was hoping maybe there are tangerine, lime, or sky blue/denim/whatever its called out there.

They must have stuck to pretty basic colors for these bags. The Smoke/Dark Grey is very pretty and definitely not a faded black shade.
Here's the Wayback 2000 photo for #9458 Chelsea Hippie Flap calling it Smoke, so apparently it's the same color name for my #9457 Hippie Zip. Technically I'd think Dark Grey and Smoke would be virtually the same shade - who knows why the different names?? Note this style is called Chestnut, not Mahogany.

I've never seen these in interesting colors like that. There are quite a few fakes of these out there; if you see an unusual color, you should get it authenticated.

What can you fit in the mini?

I don’t think it is nitpicky at all  ! I know I started collecting my vintage Coach with some very strong opinions and preferences. Some have changed, some have not.
I started my deep dive into vintage Coach late in 2016. I found tPF and after lurking became a member in early 2017. I had zero interest in non-vintage Coach when I started and was especially riveted by Made in NYC bags. I started to learn more about Coach in general in addition to vintage bags/restoring. I am still drawn to Made in NYC bags (I now believe there are equal numbers of Willis’s and Made in NYC Dinky’s circulating out there!). What has fascinated me is how my preferences are changing, evolving.
I still love a bag stamped MADE IN NEW YORK CITY, U.S.A.
Strongly agree 🥰

Hey gang if you are wondering why you getting my reactions from old posts, haha late to party as usual! Just quoting some things here I really really appreciate!!! I was actually looking for something else and came across these posts. I plan on reading through here and probably AT and RR to get current.
I ‘reacted’ to your posts in that I could relate to and that I appreciated the level of honesty there.
Last August I sprained my low back badly and was recovering from that, which more or less rolled into a mammogram in October, and you may know that rolled into a breast cancer diagnosis etc… all is well now  So now I am in catch up mode.
I must have around 50-60 bags, mostly vintage Coach. I know I have a hard to find vintage Dooney in there too. Now that I have enough brain cells to spare coming out of treatment I can focus on my bags I am looking forward to paring down. I need to (re)organize how my bags are stored (which is what I was contemplating this time last year), list, organize, get a real number. See how many need rehab. I know that I have really enjoyed the hobby of refurbishing vintage Coach. And will continue that. I am going to get myself on a selling platform in 2025 and would love to sell at least a third of them. I have a mental list of the styles that don’t work for me. I love my black Saddle bag and Berk Flap, but I hate holding the flap open against my body to get tish out of it! I love my humble distressed City bag. I reach for it so often. I enjoy looking at my small bags; they may be the last to go. I swear my cute little Winnie found at the bottom of a random pile of bags at a flea market for $3 or 4 dollars is really a metaphor to be open to being surprised by the Universe …
I too was afraid to get a true count, like somehow I owed someone (who? the world) an explanation. Now I am single, so I understand if you share space or finances etc with your hubs, there may be ’splaining, but that is not my case. But I did spend a bit of time over the last 6-7 months thinking about what I would do with my hobby as I emerged into a new normal. I really enjoy refurbishing and my finds so screw the number! My purchases were well within my means so it wasn’t like bills weren’t being paid. Count them up and round them up. Spruce them up and get selling.
Or at least take pics and share them here. to ya for my ramble!
Thanks to everyone for this post. I got bit by the mostly the vintage Coach bug about five years ago. My mom loved Coach bags especially the Stewardess. I think that my interest started to peak when she passed away in 2018. I did a quick count on paper last night and my rough total is 23 and I’m still shopping. I thought that maybe I had lost my mind. 🥰

Sure. Yes to the nubuc bag too. In fact, there is no pic of the natural grain only nubuc, just a mention it is available too but not shown. This is from my copy of Holiday ‘94 page 79. View attachment 6055577The same page is used for the Holiday Preview ‘94. I’ll find the post
