There are a few on the upper east side but it's a real hit and miss game if they have any Chanel.
you can try the chelsea district... i think it's on 25th street between broadway and 6th ave. there are many malls that sell antique, vintage pieces, i.e., antique collections... there are many mini shops in there, some of them are vintage fashion... i've seen some chanel pieces here and there in the display window when i walk by... but i dont think if there's any shop that's dedicated to chanel vintage there...

There is a store called A Second Chance located on Lexington Avenue at 77th Street. Miriam is the owner. She specialises in Chanel, Gucci, LV and Dior. It's hit and miss with all consignment stores ref stock and if there is any of interest to you. It could however be a lucky stop for you. Good Luck

Someone told me there are some stores up in the 80s but I cannot remember the street ...supposedly there's a street that has all thrift stores that carry chanel bags ...does anyone know which street it is.
Every time I stop by A Second Chance (1109 Lexington Avenue), they have a good selection of Chanel bags.
Ina. They have a few locations in NYC and are online at inanyc.com. I don't know if they sell vintage, but I remember reading that SJP sells her unwanted swag there. They also got to sell off some of the Sex and the City wardrobe after the show ended. I plan to visit next time I take a trip back home to the city.
I haven't been, but I found on the internet: Bis Designer Resale, 1134 Madison, btwn 84th and 85th; there is an Ina Uptown, 208 E 73rd;Michael's the Consignment Store for WOmen 1041 Madison; there is also something called Tatiana Designer resale near Bloomingdale's. The reviews seem to think most highly of Second Chance, already mentioned above. On line, (I haven't bought anything from let-trade.com - but it is recommended from the Hermes subforum here but I did notice they featured a small black chanel classic flap for 995, as well as jemznjewels. (You can find a list of reputable e retailers in teh Hermes subforum -- many or all of them also sell Chanel. good luck!
Here is the ebay userid for second chance. You could contact her and see what else they have. I just purchased a Chanel belt (patten with large silver CC) from them. It came wrapped like a present with colorful tissue paper and ribbon.

Visted a consignment shop in NYC today called "A Second Chance". Very small store, that I can comfortably say was 80% CHANEL! Holy Christmas! They had tons of bags, jewelry, clothing, belts etc. They had some gorgeous pearl necklaces just hanging from a chandelier that werent for sale. I have never seen so much chanel jewelry for sale in one store. It was truly amazing. They had a wide variety of bags, most of which were in perfect to near perfect condition. I would check it out if you are in the NYC area.
Now for their prices.....they were very high. Much higher than other New York consignment shops. For example, a 2.55 black bag was $1800 there, and I saw the same back for $1300 down the street!
