Yeah I think the pave would probably best for long term. I like the look of the mop but I want a forever piece and I’m worried I’ll get sick of it in a few years because of how high maintenance it is and end up getting another necklace

Technically the MOP can be a forever piece too, you'll just have to accept the fact that you'll have to baby it or replace the stone every once in a while (wears and tears vary by wearer) to keep it looking pristine. Each replacement is around $250 and should probably last you at least a year. My friend's MOP shrunk and needed replacement in a little over a year because she wasn't careful with it at all and never took it off to exercise and shower. If your heart desires MOP the most, just think about even after several replacements it'll still be a lot cheaper than the pave though.

I have a MOP and a hammered gold only because I genuinely like the look of both and would wear em with different outfits or for different occasions. I wouldn't get both if it's because the pave feels too expensive or that getting 2 would be a "better deal." If the pave is something that you think you'd wear all the time, then I'd lean towards going with that.

I think you already know what your heart really wants but are just deterred by the price. It's probably best to bite the bullet and get what you want most, or risk ending up with 3 necklaces in the future (and 2 you barely wear!).

That said, have you tried carnelian, chalcedony, guilloche, or onyx? Those should be suitable for dailywear, at a better pricepoint, and imo stand out more than hammered gold.
I agree! I exchanged a single hammered gold pendant for carnelian. It's so striking!

Ooh didn’t think of this. I wouldn’t mind changing the stone every few years if the luster last for awhile!

Pave absolutely. My first pendant was MOP, honestly I probably wanted the pave but thought the price was bit steep however after 1.5 year I decided I needed the pave so I ended up with both and are now layering them together.

Do you wear the pave pendant 24-7? I feel like I should take it off before bed as I feel like it’s going to break.

Hi @AJCat , I hope you don’t mind if I jump on this thread instead of starting a new one. To everyone who has the pave, do you think it’s casual enough for every day wear? I’ve been given the YG vintage pave as an early birthday present but I am hesitant to wear it daily as it might to be too fancy for the office. We’re business casual & I do wear diamond stud earrings & have worn a small diamond cross pendant. The pave just seems so eye catching! I love it and I actually don’t want to take it off lol but worried if it seems too fancy.

I wear mine everyday. To the office/grocery/night outs lol. I think it can be dressy or casual depending on your outfit. The only time really I hide it is when I’m walking on the street lol. I’m paranoid someone would just grab it and run off
