Hi, I’m thinking of getting a vintage Alhambra necklace but I can’t decide if I should go for the Pave in gold or the mop AND hammered gold. What do you guys think?

Care to elaborate why you'd want to get both MOP and hammered gold? They're all good choices but give off such different vibes. I personally like pave the most, it's care-free and you can keep it on all the time, plus it has the extra sparkles that the hammered gold lack. MOP you'll have to be careful.

Hey, I was thinking of getting the mop and hammered gold so I can alternate between the two. Hammered gold for everyday and the mop for the weekends and special occasions since it’s delicate. The mop would be a no brainer if water/sweat was no issue but due to its nature I don’t think it’s suitable for everyday but I’d still like an everyday necklace when I’m not wearing the mop. I like the pave too for the things you mentioned - sparkly and carefree but it has a big price difference so can’t decide if it’s the worth it for just 1 or I should just get the other 2 and switch xD

Gotcha! I still think pave is the best, you can dress it up and down, also care-free so you don't have to worry about switching around between the MOP and hammered. But I have a feeling you really like MOP, maybe you can get a sweet MOP pendant later to wear alone and layer with the pave? Just thinking out loud ;) I like hammered gold too but only for bracelet or 10 motif, I feel that as a single pendant it looks a bit flat and boring. You should try on all 3 to see which one you like best though

I love the pave, but sounds like you love MOP! Unless you’re super super active, it should be ok (don’t shower / work out it it ofc). Get the one you love!

Also, I think it’s.. $200 or so (someone correct me if I’m wrong) to replace the MOP if anything did happen to it.

It seems like the question is about cost per wear. Would you be able to alternate between 2 necklaces more easily or prefer wearing just one? How dressy is your lifestyle?

Personally, I prefer the pave over the MOP or hammered. I like how sparkly and low maintenance it is. I prefer the pave that I can wear for years and it still looks good. If it gets dirty, I can wash it easily with a little bit of soap and water and not have to worry about it. With the price increases, I find that it is good to get the higher price wish list items first. Eventually, you might find yourself wishing that you got the pricey items first.

That said, I love the hammered gold necklace as well. It’s very classy and low maintenance. So it will be good for you to decide what you want. Which necklace fit your wardrobe and lifestyle? Do you like bling?

I think you’re right about the hammered gold. I saw the 16 motif I think and it was stunning. Although the single motif is nice too when layered

Yeah I think the pave would probably best for long term. I like the look of the mop but I want a forever piece and I’m worried I’ll get sick of it in a few years because of how high maintenance it is and end up getting another necklace

I think you already know what your heart really wants but are just deterred by the price. It's probably best to bite the bullet and get what you want most, or risk ending up with 3 necklaces in the future (and 2 you barely wear!).

That said, have you tried carnelian, chalcedony, guilloche, or onyx? Those should be suitable for dailywear, at a better pricepoint, and imo stand out more than hammered gold.
