Vintage Alhambra necklace won’t sit straight/centred

If wore on the shorter length, the pave pendant lies just below the suprasternal notch and does not shift much.
If wore on the longer length, it will shift to the side and need to adjust frequently.
Initially I prefer to wear on the longer length but switch to the shorter length nowadays to avoid the shifting.

This happens to me too with my MOP VA pendant. I was thinking of getting a pave VA pendant (guess that would move to the side too?) and now wondering about the small or large frivole pendant--does anyone know if these tend to move to one side as well?
I have a pave alhambra pendant in the sweet size and I've found that because the sweet pendants aren't attached to the chain the way VA pendants are, I dont experience the chain twisting or the pendant sitting off center. I will say that the clasp occasionally moves to the front, as is the case with most typical necklaces I suppose. It's a beautiful piece nonetheless, it sparkles the right amount and I wear it 24/7 with no issues. Hope this helps with your decision making process!
