Hi ladies, I’ve recently purchased the vintage pavé Alhambra pendant intending to wear it on the shorter length but noticed that every time I do the pendant shifts to the left of my neck/chest within a matter of minutes. It will not stay centred no matter what. (I’ve attached a photo to demonstrate how it sits)

I’m assuming this is due to the uneven weight at the back of the neck when using the shorter jump ring. Since the pendant doesn’t slide, when the chain moves due to the uneven weight at the back, so does the pendant.

Has anyone else experienced this or did I just get a faulty necklace?

Mine does the same sadly. Even on the longer length.

Stuff moves. Like if you turn your head a lot in a certain direction. My computer screen to my right gets a lot of attention. So I am constantly twisting and turning my head. The vintage pendant has surface area so it will have contact with your skin and maybe stick a little bit. If your hair catches in the back it can shift. It’s not super heavy so it won’t stay in place forever. I bet that a lot of us don’t even notice if our necklaces shift, especially the ones not worn long.

My VA pendant moves, always. The chain also twists which shortens the pendant somewhat. I wore it a fews days ago and couldn’t wait to take it off. As pretty as it is (carnelian), I regret buying it.
Yes funny thing is I get the twisting issue with the white gold guilloche holiday pendant but not with my ginza Ltd edition ‘magic’ sized alhambra! It puzzles me and annoys me when I wear it

I own several VCA pendants and NO this does not ever happen.

There is a lot of surface area on the back of the guilloche that has direct contact with your skin. On the regular Alhambra pendants, the perlee beads may have more contact.

This has not happened to me but reading everyone else’s responses, seems like this is a common problem? I actually wear mine both at the longer and shorter lengths and the pendant sits right at the center.

My husband bought this for me in the black onyx. I had the extender added and yes, mine does the same thing. It shifts to the left constantly. I suspect its because the pendant is so lightweight. I am very disappointed. I have several expensive jewerly pieces and none of them do this. This is a design flaw, which should not happen for the price.

I only have the holiday pendants in the VA size, they kind of sit unevenly as well but I just adjust it whenever I feel like it. I suspect your VA pave may have the same issue since it weighs less. Most of the time I learned to just let it be lol...This is why I prefer the sweet size, people don't like that the pendant isn't fixated on the chain, but IMO it makes it easier to adjust and stay in place (in the center).

Slightly off topic: Did you end up getting it in RG? How are you liking it so far? :amuse:
