I’m curious why you say it’s better than Togo or Epsom? Not disputing, just trying to learn...

It's just my personal taste, lots of people love Togo and Epsom. Epsom I don't like because it's a stamped leather and it feels like cardboard, also I prefer softer leathers in general. In my opinion it doesn't wear well either, the corners get scuffed very quickly. As for Togo I've never liked it's small grain and hand feel, I've always prefered Clemence over Togo.

My favourite Hermès leathers are Boxcalf, Barenia, Clemence, Swift, Chevre. Having said all this, it's just my personal opinion:flowers:

I was offered a pure dark green yeah pure green rodeo yesterday. I didn't take. Should I ? The SA said it is rare ;)

So I think the theme I’m seeing here is you are taking what’s offered and not necessarily what you love. The vert cypress might be rare but if you don’t love it, it doesn’t matter unless you plan to sell these things. But what you love. Plain and simple.

Ah, thanks, I’m always interested to hear others views!

I have a Bearn in box (I can’t be sure as was a gift, I never seem to have it when I am in a store) which has scratched but feels beautiful in my hands. I bought an Epsom Bearn because I heard the leather is more hard wearing but I really don’t like how it feels - too stiff and hard. I’m deliberating my first H bag and the SA in NBS recommended an Epsom Bolide for me but it just didn’t make my heart sing, however I’m enjoying the research hence my questions... I currently have a request for a Bolide in Novillo which I saw on h.com but I’d like the “store” experience for my first bag.

As others have told you - only buy what you like; do not buy just for rarity value.
For what it's worth, I don't like charms or twillies; twillies might have some protective function, but I don't see the need to embellish what is already a beautiful item with a dangling horse or pom-pom.
