i have a question here.
got a Black Birkin in Paris Flagship store. The leather called Veau Jonathan on the invoice.

i can not locate this type of leather in the Hermes leather directory.. Can anybody help?

Thx a lot. Basically got the appointment through online system, waiting there for 2 hrs.. One sales person asked me what i want. i was nervous and said a black Birkin Silver hardware and 30. (forgot to mention the type of leather..etc..etc.).. so the SA brought this one.. i do prefer togo or epsom leather.. but SA said, you are lucky to have this one.. so i took it and did not ask any questions.. then i went back to hotel.. and saw the invoice.. i am confused

Wondering if similar to Swift, as in Jonathan Swift. Progression would be Gulliver...Swift...Jonathan???
It does look something like Gulliver or Swift in the pictures It is beautiful.

question here. if it is swift.. then it is good or really Epsom or Togo are better and more desirable.. sorry i am new to these..

I was told years ago when the man who tanned Gulliver leather retired, the leather was discontinued. Then the same type leather came back called Swift. Maybe there has been a reason to again change the name of this leather.
Jonathan Swift wrote Gulliver's Travels, so the three names are related and the three leathers are very similar.
I would prefer this leather to Togo or Epsom, however it is somewhat more delicate.

My favorite Kelly is my Swift Kelly. If this Jonathan leather is like Swift, you are very lucky! It’s beautiful & not delicate, enjoy!

Aside from individual preferences, this smooth calf is certainly considered a higher grade than Epson or Togo would be by many leather lovers. I think you scored a gorgeous piece.
