Yes. I placed an order online for a ring size not in stock online. Online SA was able to find it in a boutique. She said she will pull the ring from the store to their central site then mail it out to me. (Quoted about 2 weeks) I guess the risk is that the item can be sold prior to the transfer process but she will keep me posted. The advantage is that you can use the online return/refund policy whereas if you call the store directly, you have to follow boutique policy and only exchange.
