You ask an excellent question,
@yuzulife. I wear Lapis for the color. There are many shades of blue in Lapis and I find that VCA selects stones that are a clear, vibrant blue that appeals to me and flatters my coloring (fair skin, dark brown hair, green eyes). It also depends on the piece of jewelry. I’ve tried on the Perlee Couleurs bracelet in Lapis twice and have not purchased it because I don’t find it comfortable.
Regarding rarity, I have been offered several pieces in Turquoise—Two Butterfly pendant, Secret Watch pendant, Perlee Couleurs ring, Perlee Couleurs earrings—each time with a comment on how rare it is. My SA also offered to put me on a list for the re-release of the Turquoise/Pave 20-motif Alhambra necklace, which I declined. VCA Turquoise is beautiful but it’s not me. I haven’t been tempted to buy because I know it will sit in my jewelry box.
Finally, I recently learned that most Lapis is mined in Afghanistan. Given the current political situation in the country I imagine it is more difficult for any jewelry manufacturer to get Lapis. I suppose that makes it “rare”.
