When you see or handle the pendant, do you think (or variations thereof), "Wow, this is so pretty. So glad I got it"? Is the rarity of lapis lazuli going to lead you to wear it?
I do like it, I just like gold fleck, which this doesn’t have.
My SA recently offered the lapis Perlee pendant to me. I also bought it. She said the boutique received two of the pendants in September 2022. The one I bought was the first to come to the boutique since then. She did say that lapis, along with turquoise, are two stones that you cannot place an order for. In other words, VCA still makes pieces with the stone but it can be up to chance if you happen upon one.
You ask an excellent question, @yuzulife. I wear Lapis for the color. There are many shades of blue in Lapis and I find that VCA selects stones that are a clear, vibrant blue that appeals to me and flatters my coloring (fair skin, dark brown hair, green eyes). It also depends on the piece of jewelry. I’ve tried on the Perlee Couleurs bracelet in Lapis twice and have not purchased it because I don’t find it comfortable.

Regarding rarity, I have been offered several pieces in Turquoise—Two Butterfly pendant, Secret Watch pendant, Perlee Couleurs ring, Perlee Couleurs earrings—each time with a comment on how rare it is. My SA also offered to put me on a list for the re-release of the Turquoise/Pave 20-motif Alhambra necklace, which I declined. VCA Turquoise is beautiful but it’s not me. I haven’t been tempted to buy because I know it will sit in my jewelry box.

Finally, I recently learned that most Lapis is mined in Afghanistan. Given the current political situation in the country I imagine it is more difficult for any jewelry manufacturer to get Lapis. I suppose that makes it “rare”.
Didn’t know they were going to rerelease the turquoise/pave necklace.

Me too, but interestingly, in terms of quality, lapis without the gold flecks is of higher gem quality.
I have the VCA anniversary Lapis and my first comment to my SA was that I didn't see any gold flecks. She told me VCA tries to make sure there are none! Kind of sad to me, but she said the same, that the higher quality shouldn't have flecks.

I have this lapis pendant as well. My SA ordered it for me when I asked for it.

That looks so elegant on you! No idea about piece rarity, but I definitely wouldn't let that go!

Thank you. What does the anniversary piece look like?

I was contacted by a SA in Dallas who just received this pendant. It'll be sent to me in Houston. Quite happy I managed to track it down, I guess the lapis pendants are around if you know to look for them! :yahoo:
Congrats! I know you will enjoy the pendant. I am working on how to layer mine. If you have thoughts I would appreciate it! It feels like VCA came into a stock of lapis and turquoise. I’ve seen many pieces available in both. I am waiting on another piece in lapis. My SA said the hold up was securing more of the stone. Fingers crossed!
