Jessica's $$ definitely grants him a better lifestyle than he would have had otherwise. He really wasn't that successful, and let us all remember that when you are in a group with 4 members, money left over from paying agents, management, lawyer, whoever, gets split four ways. If TLC, which was far huger than 98 Degrees ever was, was broke at the height of their success, I have a hard time believing Nick is rolling in dough independently without his divorce settlement. It doesn't matter either way, but nothing on this site really matters. It's just a discussion.
Congrats to them though! I really didn't think they would get married, but I am sure Vanessa already has dress picked, her flowers, the venue, etc. the way she kept making blatant comments about always being a bridesmaid, never a bride. lol.

You know, I agree with this. When they are just dating and first married, Jessica was know but she wasn't a household name and as BIG as a star as Britney and Christina were back in those days.
She didn't get huge until AFTER Newlyweds. Now granted it was her cuteness, and cute outfits, and "dumb" comments that everyone talked about. But I don't believe for a second that she would be as huge if it wasn't for that show. And since she wouldn't have had that show if she weren't married... then I honestly think that Nick was entitled to some of that money. And since there was no prenup... you know the drill. I don't know him personally of course, but he seems like a good guy and I'm sure he was fair in what he asked for.
I stand by my statement that it was her money, obviously, so I'll just agree to disagree. Nobody was really checking for Nick. They were checking for Jessica.

Jessica was singing at county fairs when Newlyweds started. And she still is. She either left or got dropped from her label after she bombed as a country singer. Granted, she doesn't need to sing for a living anymore. When she divorced she was starring in movies produced by her father. I think her last movie was released in Siberia. Entertainment wise her career is dead. Her money came with the brand and that came with her wedding ring. If Nick wasn't entitled to that money her father would have made sure the entire world knew it because he is tacky and classless like that.

I am happy for them. I think she is a lucky girl. When they travel they travel light looking at the tab. pics and they don't appear to travel with an entourage which is $$$. I think they probably live quite comfortably. They seem to be a more quiet couple, the type that does not need to surround themselves with celeb. flash.
