Aren’t all these price increases happening too close together? Are they employing the Chanel pricing scheme? It’s very off putting because there’s no explanation for the price increases given they’re so close together and it’s not like service or quality or packaging got better, in fact it’s the literal opposite. :confused1:
Totally agree, here in the Uk the price increase is with effect from the 13th April.

It would be helpful to know what lines are impacted and the percentages. Approximately ten percent without any explanations just throws people into a tizzy. This could mean anything from only high jewelry is affected or high jewelry is going up 20 percent percent but vintage is only going up 5%. It’s annoying when sas don’t provide specifics and think it’s sometimes intentional so people feel like they need to buy. As to why the increase is happening - maybe gold prices which have increased significantly. Or maybe richemont is trying to make cartier and vca more attractive a purchase for lvmh. I really hope that’s not the case. As if arnault needs to expand his empire any further. If lvmh gets a hold of cartier and vca with no doubt prices will increase dramatically like it did at Tiffany.

This is what's slowly pushing me away from VCA...and I've only started my collection a year ago??

At first, getting a VCA piece was a luxury for sure, but still attainable.

But since then, there has been: what, 2 price increases to the Alhambra line (my main love) already and a possible 3rd in the near future; the whole 2022 HP hullabaloo; and minimum spend requirements/freezes with MTOs/SOs, getting a new piece direct from VCA seems further and further out of reach.

I forget where, but I heard that VCA has become popular in recent years because of social media and what not; so, VCA might be going in this direction on purpose in order to discourage new buyers and reward loyal customers who have "appreciated" their brand for years.

Whether or not this is true, well, mission accomplished!

Eta: TBF, I'm probably a little salty, because I just got a rejection notice from VCA, lol.

So a couple months ago, I updated my SA with my current wishlist. It only had like 3 things on it but they were all hard to get items. Anyways, she said she can order any of those for me. I jumped on the chance to get something in hammered YG and paid in full.

Then a little more than a month later, I got a text saying Paris denied my order so I'll be getting a refund. Not even an offer to order something else for me, probably cuz there would have been no point in doing so. Heh.

But it's probably for the best. I consider it money saved. I just wish VCA had rejected me more quickly. I had literally just paid off my CC the day before, so I had to request a balance refund through my bank. And of course, major banks suck so it took 2 days for them to process my request and then another 6-7 days for me to receive the check via snail mail...even though I have a checking acct with them and checked off the box that said electronic funds/direct deposit was preferred!! Sigh.

Anyways, sorry for the long post. Just wanted to vent.

Thats why i quit my shopping relationship with Chanel three years ago. I can't stand Tiffany any more! I can only laugh about their actual prices compared to three years ago.
I hope VCA is not going the same route. The new packaging thing is not a good sign. 2 price increases about 10 percent each time per year is too much. This is also the last round for me

May I ask if you were trying to get a SO or MTO in hammered YG or just a regular piece that is hard to find now?
Maybe they don’t say yes just before a price increase?

After reading posts here I texted my SA today about a possible price increase in the US. She hasn’t heard anything yet but pledged to reach out to me if she does. Other post have said April 13th. If SAs get 3-days advance notice perhaps I will hear from her tomorrow. Hope not (meaning, I hope there isn’t another increase)!
