Hi there! Its my 10th wedding anniversary coming up this year and I am torn between two options. If you could get only one thing, what would you prefer to choose between bvlgari serpenti two tone watch and vca 10 motif necklace. I know this is vca specific group but would love if you guys could help break the dilemma.

Tough one. I love the functionality of a watch though (as much as I think the necklace is a classic). The watch is a bit more unusual.

Can you share what your watch collection is now? Why would you choose the Serpenti? And same question regarding your VCA pieces and why you want the 10 motif.

@Pavneet24 I love pieces to commemorate special milestones. Congrats on your upcoming anniversary.

I agree with @EpiFanatic It would be helpful to know 1) what you own currently. I find it’s easier to identify the gaps in one’s collection that way.
2) What do you gravitate towards generally or reach out for most often? I know some people prefer bracelets over earrings or earrings over rings etc. I feel that’s important because no matter the gaps in one’s collection, if you don’t wear necklaces then adding a necklace to fill a gap makes no sense and is money lost in a sense.

So this would be me foraying first time in the watch world. I do not own any luxury watch as of now. I do own some bvlgari, Tiffany jewellery and gold pendant sets from local jewelers.

I like bvlgari serpenti because the watch in itself feels complete for formal occasions and you don’t need to stack it up with other jewelry.

With that being said I didn’t own VCA either, so unsure which one to pick.

If you like the Serpenti as a standalone piece and would wear it a lot, assuming cost per wear matters to you, go for it. You probably already know it’s not a watchmakers watch but what matters is whether you love it. Not everyone is a watch lover trying to build a collection. However if you are and that matters to you then I would consider to just go with the usual Rolex, Patek, AP, or even Cartier as your first significant time piece. With regard to the 10 motif, if it speaks to you, you love it and would wear it and it fits into your life style, go for it. Most people don’t go for a 10 motif as their first VCA piece but maybe it’s a smart move cause lots of people end up there. If you’re not sure whether you will love it and don’t want to risk spending that much on a piece that won’t be worn much, I would choose the watch if that will be your daily. The Serpenti is a great statement piece that serves as a watch and a piece of gorgeous jewelry. Also as a Bulgari piece, it can be a one and done. There are so many VCA pieces to choose from.
