Sorry for the huge pics. I don’t know how to make them smaller![]()
How different is your 16 from a 20? Just fewer motifs? Why choose one over the other?A few action shots of the 16-motif. It’s become such a staple in my closet. Happy new week everyone

Not OP, but for me the biggest difference is that the 16 has sweet size motifs while the 20 has vintage size motifs. This makes the 16 very subtle, and can be an elegant and effortless pairing with vintage or magic sized earrings as compared to pairing with a vintage 20 motif, especially if wearing one or two 5 motifs on the wrist as well. It is easily too much vintage Alhambra with 3-4+ pieces all in vintage size. It is even more subtle because the hammered rose gold is harmonious with many skin tones. The 16 is substantially shorter than the 20 also; somewhere between a 10+5 and a 20. I cannot wrap the 16 twice without unclasping, while I easily can with the 20.How different is your 16 from a 20? It is a great piece. I would add the bracelet as it will give double duty and can be layered with your bracelets or to lengthen the necklace. It wears so well on you ladies that I now have added to my list to try as well.THIS @A bottle of Red
Perfectly summed up by @nicole0612 The sweet size is so subtle yet elegant that it can easily be worn everyday and incorporated with every kind of outfit. I definitely see myself adding a 20 down the line but I don’t see 20 as a casual piece. Every time I have tried it, at least to me it looks more formal. And, I have tried the 20-motif on both work and casual clothing. It’s stunning but more of a statement piece with so many motifs in the vintage size.
I am debating whether to add 3 inches to the existing length or add the 6-motif to wrap it twice without unclasping. @missie1 @nicole0612 any suggestions ladies?
I actually tried this, because I assumed that it would be so much more useful and easy to wear with the added length. I purchased the 6 motif RG to try out the extra length first, before making any changes to the sweet 16 necklace. Surprisingly; I did not care for it! With the delicate motifs, it actually looks better double wrapped at chocker length. It is hard to explain, but it looks a little unwieldy at the 16+6 length, at least on me it keeps settling to one strand at a chocker length and the other strand lower, instead of both strands staying a bit lower, which is what I had been aiming for. The two strands also wrapped around/over each other a lot, getting the motifs jumbled up and tangled. I hate unclasping, but for me it was enough of a "no" that my sister now has the 6 motif because I will not be wearing it this way at all. The advantage of the 16 is the simple elegance and carefree nature, and it loses this when it becomes longer and tangled. I think you could add a short amount to the length and be ok, but probably not enough to eliminate the need to unclasp.THIS @A bottle of Red
