vachetta and rain

I spray my vachetta twice with Apple Guard and I don't worry about it. The water rolls off. I repeat sprays every 3 months. No water spots on any of my bags.

some ppl carry longchamp bags folded up in their bags for this very reason.

it wasn't until purseforum that i realized i should avoid rain on new vachetta. i was caught in pouring rain and the wide vachetta strap of my bag was SOAKED. there are some light stains but nothing super noticable at least not to me. i don't baby my LV bags as i think of them as workhorses...and they do surprisingly well. that being said i know now better than to be walking in pouring rain with a bag that has vachetta trim.

Me too, I love Apple Guard it works like a dream:cool:

I may have to try this with my vachetta strap for my Favorite. Does it apply easily? I've only conditioned a leather couch before lol so idk what I'm doing with bags more expensive than my couch haha

I don't understand people says g they have no problems with rain and vachetta. I gave a Croissant GM which is about 15 years old. The vachetta has patina of course. I applied LMB about 6 months ago for the first time and when in a very light rain for about 3/4 mins.I had water spots on my handle. They stayed for 2 days. So I used LMB again to take them off. So rain and vachetta is a no no for me.

I used to worry like crazy about rain on vach until I got caught in a sprinkle and got water spots on my totally straps. You know what, I really didn't care. Once it dried, you couldn't really see them.

I have a 15year old noe that has been through everything and once the patina developed, everything just blended.

edit: I wouldn't want ANY bag to be soaked in the rain but a few water spots on vach, really doesn't bother me.

I just purchased the totally mm in azur. I leave near Seattle where it Rains alot. Do u ladies have any trouble carrying your bags with vachetta in the rain?

I treat my vachetta with LMB but I still keep an eye on the weather. If it rains my Galliera stays home. DE canvas can get thru rain & snow and still look brand new. In case Im caught in an unexpected down pour I do keep my dust bag and a plastic shopping bag in my Gall.

I decided this week not to care. I have enough stress in my life to worry about my bags. I sprayed them, it works pretty well, and I can use my bags worry-free. As someone else pointed out, you can always have leather replaced if it's really awful.

As I've said before, I'd prefer that my bags show their age instead of my face.

What do you spray them with? I've never spray any of my LV before or any bags!

I hear you're supposed to treat your bag every three months with LMB..

Collonil - can be bought at mulberry or most shoe stores as far as I know. Seems to work great every now and then I see a little water spot, but it dries and disappears.
