Hi! I have been wanting a rouge H box 28 forever, and finally purchased one on eBay. I received the bag today but I am worried I have spent thousands on a fake (the dust bag and the turn key just look really wrong). [emoji24][emoji24][emoji24]

My question is should I open a eBay claim now and at the same time get it authenticated? Will eBay accept authentication from Bababebi?

Thank you!!

I understand why you are panicking at the moment, but please try to relax and take one step at a time. Contact Bababebi, get it authenticated, then if it turns out it is a counterfeit, take that next step with eBay. At the moment you don't know for certain if it is a counterfeit. Leave it for the expert to decide.
Please let us know how it goes. Good luck dear.

ITA. You shouldn't do anything with ebay until you have it authenticated. That's really unfair to the seller if you claim a counterfeit without knowing if it is or is not? If you knew for sure, then ok, but if you don't, and that's not nice.
In my experience, Bababebi is fast, so if you contact her, you should have your answer very soon, and then you can rest easy or file a rightful claim with ebay.

Also, if it is a Rouge-H Kelly, some are really vintage, and although I don't own a Rouge one, I have a number of Kellys, and the older ones have funky locks and keys, so don't worry over that just yet. Best of luck and let us know how it goes :)!

H dustbags changed several times and I agree that you SHOULD NOT open the case before you get the authentication done, really unfair to the seller.
do you like the bag overall, i.e. condition, color, size? I am asking because sometimes people get disappointed and this contributes to their thinking the bag is off.

I think OP has not opened any case with eBay, she was asking for opinions if she should go ahead file the claim while getting it authentic.

I have been recommended to this person for authentication via pictures only.

They have a few options.
Email opinion - cheapest option
Certificate opinion - a little more expensive
Contested Dispute opinion for PayPal, eBay or credit cards - the most expensive

I am not sure I understand the third option. I asked about it and the response I received is that its usually for paypal. They did not give me any additional information such as if there are different steps that make it cost more.

Third option is for either buyers or sellers involved in a dispute regarding authenticity. Best of luck to you. Bababebi is wonderful to work with and is a valued member of this forum. :flowers:

To build on this the reason it costs more is because there’s more work required to generate the report that PayPal needs in order to be satisfied in the event of a dispute regarding the handbags authenticity.

I’d pick option #1 if you just want to know for yourself or option #2 if you’re ever considering selling the bag.

I used the first but then requested the second and learnt that bag was a different leather (which didn't make a difference to me but visibly store staff were incompetent). I'd recommend the second option, it's not much more expensive but more informative.
