Ugh, they forgot to take the security tag off the clothes I bought!

It happened to me once on the trip, I had to call the store and ship this item to them to remove that plastic tag, then waited for them to ship it back. It was really annoying. Since then I try to make sure I don't have it on my purchases and keep receipts always :)

This happened to me at VS before too during one of their big semi-annual sales. I bought a pajama tank for $5 and when I got home I found out they forgot to remove the security tag...I brought it back and they removed it for me no problem.

It happened to me too! I bought a pair of shorts for my boyfriend, and when i got home i noticed that the security tag was still on it! Luckily i'm in that city a lot, because i go to school there. They even removed it without asking for the receipt (she forgot to give that too!!!!) but i had it in the original bag and box (giftwrap-box).. It was not even busy at the store or something, i think she just started working there and did not have the routine yet.

that happened to me twice recently. once was a tank from american eagle, and their alarm didn't even go off! i got home and realized the huge plastic tag was still on there, and i had to go back to the mall just to get the tag off.

at vs i bought 10 panties and the alarm kept on going off at almost every store i went in and out of. it turned out that 1 panty still had the sensor when i went back to the store at the end of the day.

This has happened to me so many times! Usually when I am abroad - so have learnt the French and Italian for "can you make sure you remove the security tag, please" when I am at the checkout, as it is so infuriating to have to go back up 2 or 3 floors to the original checkout or get home with it still on. My husband has been able to remove the tag before with a vice in his workshop but it's a nuisance!!

I dont think this has ever happened to me but I use to work in retail and there was once or twice that I have forgotten to remove a tag...out of the 5 years of working.

im not saying its not a bad thing, but it happens, and usually people are very nice about it when you bring it back.

i know at my work, sometimes we would double security tag more expensive items, and when you are a parttime worker, you are not aware that there are two tags in a pair of pants or leather jacket....you just take off the tag at the place it always is and forget to check the whole garment to make sure that there is not another tag lol

also, for bulky garments, like a down jacket, i can see a security tag being overlooked...but i dont think it really makes sense to me that a security tag on a panty can go overlooked lol

This happened to me a couple of times, and yup, people are really nice and apologetic about it when I've brought the items back, but it's just strange that it doesn't beep when I go through the sensored doors!

The most annoying one though, was when I went to visit my parents (in another state) and bought a skirt from a store that didn't have a location in MY state, and only figured out there was a sensor on it when I got home. My bf took a hammer to it and removed it LOL.

This has happened to me twice at Metropark and it was the same explaination my SA gave to me and the new employee who had rung me up.

Now whenever I shop there I'm always thinking about the sensor tags in the back of my mind

VS sensors in the tags or wherever they stick them on their beauty products are the worst. i work PT in a clothing store elsewhere in the mall and our sensors go off every 3rd or 4th time someone w/ VS beauty products walks in. it's annoying, but once in awhile it's funny to watch the reaction from a shopper (especially if i've had a bad day!). :)

I hate when that happens. Last season I presaled a Chloe bag at Bergdorf Goodman's and it arrived with the security tag. I called Bergdorf's and they told me to bring it to Neimans to get the tag removed and then Neiman's told me they don't use security tags so I ended up uising wire cutters and the tag started alarming and got louder by the second. I was at work and we ended up getting a hammer and smashing it to bits to get it to shut-up! It was pretty funny and then an SA at Bloomie told me they were called "screamers" and only get louder by the second. What a nightmare!!

OMG that's too funny! :roflmfao:

I have this happen all the time w/ VS! Last time I bought a pair of PINK sweats it happened & my hubby removed the sensor himself (garment wasn't damaged at all) b/c I was so fed up w/ this always happening at VS & I didn't want to go back. Good luck.
