These Coach Anniversary bags were my favorite Caroline bags. Each one was beautiful. Your vachetta one has aged beautifully and has become more gorgeous and unique.
Thank you for sharing the comparison pics.
Hope you are doing well and enjoyed the recent holidays. Happy 2014!

I'm confused. I bought a used Carly (without the care card) and called Coach for care instructions. I was told that it is Vachetta leather and the use of conditioner is not recommended. I was told that it would change the leather.
So I haven't conditioned, but I would like to if it's okay. Perhaps it darkens the colour? Can Vachetta leather be conditioned or not?

I use Obenauf's LP on my Coach Vachetta bags. (I didn't have a care care either. Coach does not recommend using Coach conditioner on vachetta bags.) I did extensive research before trying Obenauf's. I apply lightly with my fingers, rub in, then buff with a horsehair brush. I've found that it darkens the leather slightly, but not significantly. It provides both conditioning and weather protection. (Just a note, the OP indicates she used a Magic Eraser. Magic Eraser is only recommended for synthetic leather, so you may want to be careful using it on vachetta.)

Thanks all!

Yes, Happy New Year. The anniversary bags were simply stunning, I think they are the nicest coach bags ever!

Coach says not to use anything on their bags - I think it was written by lawyers personally.

I use Apple guarde as a spray for stain resistant and swear by it. I used it on my Caroline. I also use Coach conditioner on my Caroline.

You have to treat Vachetta I think, even if Coach says do not. Apple Spray is the reason my bag stayed so nice. Magic eraser also removed spots too.

Beautiful bag. I wish they'd make more vachetta leather bags like this. I have some LVs and love to see how the patina is developing in- it'd be so fun with an all-vachetta bag.

Congratulations on owning such a beauty. Wear in good health.

Thanks all! You know, I bought it thinking I was just going to be OK if it does not last and then sprayed the heck out of it. And used it as an every day bag.

The spray and a magic eraser kept it clean. This is the first time in two years, I actually spent time really taking care of it. I did use Magic eraser once in a while though.

I think I might get more compliments on this bag over any other.

It's so nice to have all of you to share the joy of this bag by the way!

Did you ever condition it before this two-year project? Or just sprayed it and then waited to condition until now? Ever put anything else on it? You've established the model for vachetta care...I want to make sure I follow your exact steps! :-)

OH, nice to say. I used three coatings of apple spray on the bag, then, I used magic eraser when it got dirty. Then, after two years, I decided to condition the bag. I did leave it in the sun in my house when I was not using it for a while.

Hope that helps.

That does help, thanks! I ordered the vachetta Borough and can only hope that my bag ages like that stunning Carrie you've created. I wasn't sure if I should just spray or should condition when it arrives....I will just spray, then. I have my apple spray ready to go! Thanks for responding!

Happy New Year all.

I spent today caring for my beloved Vachetta leather Caroline. I used about three cans of Apple spray when I bought it, since I'm rough on bags. And it was a good thing because a ton of stuff has been spilled on it over the last two years. I think the most worrisome was Raspberry sauce and some coffee but but both wiped right off - yay for Apple spray!

Today used magic eraser to get the dirt off. It got most of it and it on the bottom too, However, a few corners were stubborn. Then, I used coach Conditioner and I was amazed it soaked up a whole bottle (three coatings). It got super, super soft, like lamb skin, and then, I used another can of Apple spray (and ordered more for one more coating).

I then, looked at some of the original photos of the vachetta leather Carolines and it was amazing to me how lovely this bag as aged. It was awesome when I got it, but now, it's super soft and a super rich golden leather

I pulled the old photo off the forum and took a photo of my bag. I wonder if it will get much darker. I like the way it is now, but we'll see what happens in two more years. I still love it as much as the day I got it.

Cheers
Wow stunning bag you have taken great care of it .Can Apple be used on all coach bags?
