Trying to love my Jumbo...

I'm petite like you but I have found if you wear the jumbo with the single chain (length adjusted), rather than with the double chain as a shoulder bag, then proportion-wise it looks so much better and less overwhelming on a petite frame.

I love how the jumbo looks on other people but on me, I think it looks overly huge!

It's light and fits whatever I need. The bag has to work for your life style and not what everyone likes. Personally, 5K is a lot of money to make yourself love something...

OP, if the size does not work for you then sell it and get the size that suits you. I had the jumbo and sold it as it didn't work for me. I'm petite as well.

It does overpower your petite frame, I think. It is beautiful, it just looks like a lot of "bag" for you.

i love the jumbo size because it fits so must more than a m/l. However, that jumbo looks huge on you and i like big bags. Maybe a tote or a seasonal piece?

Mine was too big and heavy even though it was a single flap, so I sold it and got a lambskin seasonal. Been using it regularly for past two years and its been great

Sell it and get the medium or mini! I sold my maxi and got the medium flap with no regrets!!!

I tried to love my jumbo too but is was heavy and looked to large on me. I thought I needed it size wise to carry everything. I just decided to carry less lol.

I note that you are not OP. The Jumbo looks good on you size-wise, not too big at all. My view, of course.

Thank you. I guess I just felt overwhelmed, and that the bag lost it's cuteness factor lol.

The jumbo looks a bit big on you. Get an m/l instead IMHO. I used to have a jumbo in my collection; both in fact: the single and the double flap version. I first got the single flap jumbo but didn't like how the shape of the bag changed with constant use and this made the bag look huge on me. I then got the double flap and liked how the bag's shape held up. However, I found the bag really heavy so I had to sell that one as well.

i feel the same way...i bought a jumbo about 4 years ago and it's been sitting in my closet since...i feel like when i'm a bit older, i will want a jumbo and won't be able to afford it as the prices keep going up..

You're going think I'm crazy! My first Chanel bag after much deliberation was a black caviar jumbo with ghw that I never wore because I should have bought it with shw as I'm more silver/platinum jewellery person. In the end I sold that first jumbo and bought the same with shw and I absolutely love it. It goes with everything and I don't find it too heavy as I don't like to carry too much. I also have a black lambskin m/l which rarely gets used as very little fits into it and I don't like the length of the chain. I'm only 5'1" and don't think it overwhelms my frame. Maybe it's the colour you're not sure about? Or maybe try the boy instead as I love my old medium boy too! [emoji3]

Jumbo on you is what a Maxi is on me. Your body type and proportions really do dictate how a bag looks on you. Does your Jumbo look bad in the pics you presented, not necessarily would a M/L look better probably. KWIM.

I so so so agree!! I am 5' 9" so I think that it is even more than a proportion thing, although it does look really big on you. I HATED how big, bulky and heavy it was. And to make matters worse, I had the same experience (maybe worse cause the naked, empty bag is so heavy) with a Birkin 35.


Know what , I lost a lot less money re-selling the Chanel than I did the Birkin. Chanel has actually gone up in price but that Birkin was nothing but a money drain for me.


I have settled on the cerf tote as my favorite Chanel and the Evelyne as my favorite Hermes. GO FIGURE!!!!! At the end of the day, we are who we are regardless of what others do.
