I'm looking for another Hermes bag and when I look at listings (Ebay and other sites) and no strap is in any photo or in the description I realize there is NO strap being sold with the bag. From what I've read Hermes can make a strap provided the leather is still being used....but it's quite expensive.

Just from my perspective as a buyer, I think the seller was pretty good to say after the bidding was over that she hunted for a strap and was sending it.

Now, as to what happened to that shipped strap....or if the seller indeed ship it....is another matter.

My point is.....I think if a strap is not in the listing photos or description one cannot assume it is included.....and that's why some bags sell for less than those with straps.

Still doing much research before my next Hermes purchase and am learning so much every day from pure observation, carefully reading listings, reading lots of TPF posts, etc.

It's tough buying off the secondary market if one wants to go that route and a buyer, I think, has to do do diligence in examining the listings and contacting the seller about any issue before bidding.

By the way, I also want a shoulder strap with certain bags I want to purchase and if they are not in the l listing .....and I find out after emailing the seller that none is available...I just move on and do not bid.

It takes lots of time to find a dream bag on the secondary market, but then, again, it takes a long time to order one from Hermes especially these days.

I've had a shoulder strap on order for over two years and it still hasn't arrived. I heard that H has put orders for shoulder straps on the back burner so don't hold your breathe if alleged strap doesn't show up.

Has anyone dealt with brandedluxus on Malleries site? There is a bag I want to get but just want to know if they have a good reputation. As usual, I can't find the tread of good re-sellers. Thanks anyone who might have time to answer
