I finally found a discontinued bag I have been searching for - the Octogone bag in craie. They have had it for sale for at least 1.5 years as best I can tell, so I assume they will sell it to me, hopefully at an ok price.

BUT. The bag is in Hong Kong, I am in Europe and they do not have a website to shop from! I found them via Instagram, and only the algorithm gods know why I haven’t seen it before. My questions are now:

Does anyone know the “Noble store” in Hong Kong?

And how would you go about paying without the risk of never receiving a bag?

Hope someone can help me!
The Real Real has that bag online

Thank you! That one is definitely my back up plan, but the one in Hong Kong has the leather strap which I prefer in this case.

(Confession time: I already own this bag with the rocabar cloth strap in Rouge H, and I LOVE it! Getting the same bag in another color seems a little more justified if the strap is also different - sounds crazy?)

Right, I see what you mean about buying another color with a leather strap. Try for that one first.

Calling out to all with knowledge of resellers in Hong Kong:

Do any of you know the Noble Store? The address is PArk Lane Shopper’s Boulevard, TSIM SHA TSUI, Kowloon, H.K.

Are they a trusted reseller?

Would you transfer money in their account and expect them to send you the bag as agreed upon?

I would be very great full for some input :flowers:

Also a question about Fashionphile.. I am not worried about the authenticity issues (will anyway authenticate through Bababebi) but how about the condition? I have heard that there are resellers (like apparently Ann´s?) with whom you are always happily surprised about the condition (being better than on the description), so is FP one of them? For example, if it says in the description that there is structure wear, I am wondering how bad it can be.. The bag I am eyeing on is from 2011 but I don't believe the year says it all, depending how much it has been used and how it has been stored (like the corner wear is minimal).
I bought vintage bags from them and they looked exactly like the photos. I asked on the chat feature to receive more photos and they sent me texts with a bunch of photos of each. I really like FP. As for TRR, they can send the bag to a store near you so you can see in person. I also like them. I love Amore Vintage in Japan, and One’s Vintage in HK. The also send more photos.

Does anyone else find TRR taking 30% on consignments to be insane?
I don’t consign anymore, and when I did years ago, it was rare. I never sell anything myself.
So 30% for taking away the hassle; marketing; photography; authenticity issues; client issues;
Mailing and packaging doesn’t seem to be that unusual to me, IDK. But, I don’t think
I would go to TRR for anything valuable.

ETA: I just googled average consignment fees and got this. I would
Certainly assume less that this percentage below for luxury consignment

I am used to Goldin auctions only taking 5% of my final hammer price when I consign items with them. Obviously sports memorabilia & collectibles are a different game but the idea remains the same! 30% of the final sale price is a lot!

I sold some designer clothing through a specialist auction house and they charged around 25% for items sold, plus I paid for photography and insurance..all told it was more than 30%.
I did'nt mind because it took all the hassle away but compared to a consignment store that took 50% comission off the selling price then returned unsold items 3 months later after they'd been tried on and manhandled in the store I'd rather just sell at auction in future.
To get back on topic I think 30% is pretty ok

Anyone in the US bought an exotic bag from Ginza Xiaoma? Did you have any issues with import due to exotic skin? Did you have to pay import taxes?
I haven’t purchased from them but seriously considered it. I opted not to bc they told me the bag I wanted didn’t come with CITES (so make sure to check) and also there’s a one or two questionable reviews on google reviews. Not sure the legitimacy of the claims, but it made me nervous.

I’ve purchased a non-exotic bag from Ginza Xiaoma and had a great experience. Their website accepted credit card and shipping was prompt and well packaged.
