Just had a wonderful experience Ann's Fabulous Finds. They put the bag on hold for me while I made a decision. They were brilliant about sending me pictures in advance of my purchase and answering my questions. What was even better is no matter how many emails I sent or different people I talked to, they were all aware of my questions so I did not have to repeat.

Additionally when my package arrived and there was a small difference between their description of something on the bag and the way I saw things, they immediately offered to take the bag back with no problems. Of course, after sleeping on it (not the bag, the decision), I am keeping her.

Also big thanks to tPF moral support along the way!

Just to clarify, the S is a blindstamp by the embossing on the front of the bag rather than on the strap right?. If so, I would start by looking at her other Hermes auctions to see if she usually shows pics of the front embossing (I know i have seen some of her auctions in the past showing the embossing). I would gather this information and say that X number of auctions she has up shows the embossing and not showing it on a bag that has an additional letter, the letter S denoting sale is IYO misleading. I don't know if this will help, and I have never bought from her but I would start with this. I hope others more knowledgable will chime in. Before you contact her, decide what you want. Do you want the bag for less, or to return the bag, or exchange for something else she has. So sorry, I hate surprises.

Yes, it was a blindstamp under the Hermes logo at the front of the bag, which the seller did not post on the listing. Her other listings DO show the front of the bag, when there is no S stamp. I pointed this out.

I'd like to keep the bag, though I just feel like I've been cheated with this surprise. Mimiaction is in Taiwan, and she has plenty of H items on sale. I'm sure she was aware of this and was hiding this information to make a bigger sale. Sigh.

That stinks. I think she is known for selling authentic bags but not for completely honorable selling tactics.

Then here's my general warning: ask for even more photos of everything you can think of, in all lightings, before purchasing from mimiaction. Consider it my lesson learnt and paid for. =(

I emailed her this morning about a discount or even a return and still no response. She was very good at responding to me when I was about to make a purchase. ::shakes head::

I am sorry this happened. I happened to like a few of her bags, but knowing her mixed reputation, I studied the pictures carefully. I found a few times that she put the watermark over the wear, rub, damage places mentioned in the auction, but this makes the wear/rub appear less noticeable or harder to see clearly. I decided to pass all her auctions completely. I prefer to deal with honest sellers to avoid possible hassle and surprises.

Hope you can get it resolved quickly.

If you're not getting responsive and timely communication, consider filing a dispute or claim with PayPal. They are incredibly helpful in resolving issues between buyers and sellers. I recently had an expensive transaction on an Hermes item go awry and it was solved immediately.

I have opened up a dispute with paypal for mimiaction of ebay and the "S" stamped birkin. However, mimiaction still is taking a long time to respond and is even avoiding a partial refund, as well as not working out the dispute on paypal. I'm willing to negotiate the partial refund. I believe a sale birkin back in 2001 didn't cost as much as I paid for the bag. I have 20 days post opening the dispute to file an actual claim to paypal, in which paypal will review the information and make a decision for us.

I hope all works out I think he should have disclosed this to you. Knowing this was a sale item you may have passed for that price.

I just got a vintage kelly 20 with alle skin today from Janefinds. I wanna give her a big hug. Thank you to Janefinds to always have a special piece in her shop, smooth transaction, quick response, fast shipping , wonderful. I will for sure visit this shop again , Jane always find the best stuff :woohoo:

Argh.

I just purchased from mimiaction the rouge H birkin, GHW. I know she sells authentic items and I saw that there is wear on the box leather, which I feel the spa will do great wonders for it. She only had photos of the bag with it closed, and the flap covered the H logo. I didn't feel I needed to see the logo as I knew it was authentic.

However, it has arrived, and there is an "S" stamp on it. E in a square year. I emailed her directly and explained this and her misrepresentation of the bag. She says that she didn't know S indicates a sale.

I do want to keep the bag, but I also feel like I've been screwed. What should I do?

This is a really tough situation. I know your concern and feeling about being screwed. When I bought my first birkin 30 from the H Boutique in 2007 (swift leather) the retail price was $7,050. Clearly you should have been advised that this was an "S" stamped bag and you could have factored that into the price you were willing to pay.

I hope paypal helps you - please keep us posted as these are lessons in buying online that we all can use - sorry it had to come at your peril.

^Thanks everyone for all your kind words, support, and even PMs regarding this issue. The seller finally did contact me and negotiated a price that isn't even 10% of the price I paid. I'm going to see if he even refunds me that amount and then I'll put it behind me. The response has been slow. Further, I noticed that the paypal account for the seller was based in San Jose, but he operates from Taiwan. More fishy business. Hmph.

Think many of us buys stuffs off ebay quite alot, and we really understand what you been going through and feels.
moreover it's from a reputable seller. Guess you really never know what's gona happen when one buys on-line.
keep us updated and hope all ends well for you.

Here is what mimiaction said:

"You are really kind and patience, but we don't really make that much on this sale, not only the shipping cost is high, also US dollar is so weak these days.

We didn't notice this bag as a sale bag, and sorry for the inconvenience.

Both we knew box leather is hard to get these days, and price is higher and higher. Please accept our offer. If not, please kindly mail it back to us."

I'm ready to put this behind me. It's been one week of patient waiting.
