Gorgeous, are they all yours?

Thank you. Yes, they are all mine (though each of my daughters has one pencilled in for her). These are all between about 15 and maybe 30 years old, I think. All in various stages of the patina process, and some have had minor repairs, and others are yet to have a visit to LV. I liked the fact that they are all the same, but different. My kids' favorite is the one where they look like they are all talking.

SOMEONE SHOULD SERIOUSLY THINK ABOUT COLLABORATING ALL OF THESE PICS INTO A CALENDAR OR HARDCOVER BOOK FOR US HANDBAG LOVERS!!! They are absolutely STUNNING!!!

I have a "page a day" handbag calendar, and a wall calendar, but the pictures are just so plain and simple. Just a handbag a day with a plain white background. I would totally looove all of these collaborated somewhere in print!

That would be such a great idea! I love this thread and have spent ages going through it time and time again! It would be a great fundraiser if someone had the time to do it and it was OK with tPF administrators!

Thanks! I haven't seen you in a while, hope all is quite well with you!

Alas, too busy at work at the moment to spend much time on tPF, but I'll try and make up for it this weekend as I've got an unexpected empty diary. I will try and post some pics of new additions to the collection...yes, sister, I have sinned.

I don't know why I didn't suss out from your moniker that you're an artist. That's a really nice touch on your crossbody strap - you should think about doing that commercially.

that's so cool. have you just been collecting them over the years? i'm curious why you chose to buy so many...not trying to be snarky, truly just interested..never thought of buying so many of the same bag but i love it!! i could see them all hanging on the wall in little shadow boxes.

Hi. It's as simple as I am studying the brand from a historic point of view. I had the chance to pick these up over time and I did. Most have had some kind of disrepair to deal with, so it gave me a chance to notice the hardware on different bags and how the markings have changed over the years. I like stacking them up on a shelf.

Doing this also makes you realise that these bags have a lot of handmade elements to them. There are tiny variations between them - It reminds me that they are bags made by humans and therefore not perfect or totally uniform. It is this uniqueness that makes them interesting to me. I do like your idea of the shadow boxes. Cheers.
