I use a DSLR, the canon 40d, and with these pictures I used a 24-70 2.8L lens. The ones with the white backgrounds were taken with studio lighting. I was practicing.

thanks so much for the info! i I'm currently taking a photography class right now and i'm really liking it. i'm looking to get a DSLR for my birthday next month (right now i just have a couple of Canon point-n-shoot cameras). i'm not sure exactly what kind to get yet, though i've heard good things about the canon 40d
