I think the town is fabulous in RG an GH! I don't think RH would look too young for you. I love the tassels, if you get RH own it and have fun with it. I think the two things to decide between the 1st the size difference between the Town and City if you carry around a lot a city might be better suited for you because the Town is smaller. The 2nd thing is how you want to carry/wear it The town you can wear cross body where the city can hang on your shoulder(some people do have issues with trying to keep the strap on their shoulder it slips off easily for them) both can be carried by the handles. Buy what you love don't worry what others may or may not be thinking. Your the one carrying it around it you should love it. You don't want to regret not getting the bag you really wanted.

Agree with RERE: however, I'm streamlining the stuff in my bags these days, so I find that the Town holds everything for me on a daily basis, so I use the Cities more for when I know I need to carry more than one book, my lunch and a jacket or scarf thrown in. The Town fits a lot in, so the difference I notice between my Town and City is that the only things I cannot fit in are my leather jacket and water-bottle. Hope that helps!

My mom and I both love, love Bal bags and we wear the same style even though I'm in my mid-twenties and she's 66 years young :smile1:. I discovered that this is the one brand that we both agree has the best leather, style, and colors! The Town is a great bag, because you can choose to wear it on the shoulder or cross-body and have your hands free, but also wear it on your elbow. If you carry a lot in your bag, City would be the best choice.

I'm ard 5"2' too, I don't have a Town but read that Town's strap is longer than Velo, and Velo original strap is quite long on me, so I'd say the original strap on the Town would be too long for shorties like us~ :p however, you can always alter it, especially with the new adjustable strap. I had mine shorten.

I am about to get my Town and I am 4'11". The strap is a bit long in terms of wearing it crossbody, but I plan on using it as a shoulder bag by either doubling up the long strap (which is incredibly easy to do) or simply slipping my arm through the handles. It works very well that way, especially with the dip in the top of the bag.

Belle14...quick question. I have the Town with adjustable strap but even at it shortest setting I still find it long on my 5'2 frame. Can you (or anyone else who knows) please tell me how to double the strap?

there are video clips on youtube telling you how to double the strap. Hope this helps!

Sorry this took a bit.

1. Unhook the strap on end A of the bag.
2. Loop it through the circle on end A and string the strap through to end B.
3. Hook end A's hook onto end B's circle.

the bag becomes a shorter shoulder bag :)

Does anybody have any reference pics of town vs. city? And also mod pics of the both? I have a city and am contemplating on getting a town because I think the velo may be a little big for me... Thanks! :flowers:
