I'm really confused between the Top zip and the large Selma. I bought both in sapphire and I cannot decide which one i want to keep! If i keep the Selma, I would probably exchange it for luggage or navy blue (I like black too but i have the e/w hamilton in black). I like neutral colors because im not very good at matching my outfits with my purses! I do love the sapphire blue though. I would love to hear any advice or suggestions! I am 5'4 if that helps.

I find the top zip to be more comfortable for me to carry. I put straps on last hole. I have summer blue with me and just ordered raspberry. I'd like to get sapphire when it goes on clearance.

Sapphire is a gorgeous color! I have that color in the Selma. However, it's a bold statement color, so may not be a color you want to wear every day. I have 3 Selma's, so my sapphire one is going to be my statement bag for special occasions and outfits. I don't have the top zip tote because, like tauketula, I like the look of the Selma better. If you get the Selma, definitely think about getting one of the more neutral colors in addition to sapphire if you can swing it because you might regret giving up the sapphire one in the future. It really is gorgeous.

What is the difference in the strap length when you use the last holes?

Thanks!

My top zip is more comfortable to carry but my Selma is more of a statement bag. It just completes whatever outfit I'm wearing. I would pick the Selma.....:smile1:

Agreed. I put all my things in each bag to see which one I like more. Both seem to fit the same amount (iPad - not the mini, a makeup bag, sunglasses case, a wallet, and some random things). Both were heavy. Top zip was more comfortable to carry...if I put too much into the Selma, I cannot wear it on my arm, would have to use the strap to put it over my shoulder. I love the look of both! And I love wearing the Selma over my shoulder. If I keep the Selma, id be exchanging it for luggage or black (I love black bags, can't help it).

I was considering luggage or black if I keep the Selma. I love sapphire but I just know I would not be able to use it every day :(

Well, I also have it in luggage, which I love! If you tend towards black bags, then get it in black because it's impeccable in that color. However, if you tend towards lighter color clothes, then get luggage because it absolutely goes with everything. Sometimes, I think black bags are too severe (i.e., dark) to wear with lighter summer outfit colors or lighter colors, in general.

That makes sense...and you're absolutely right. Black does look severe with lighter/summer colors...I think luggage will look nice with a dark outfit as well as lighter colors. I don't know why this is so hard! I had no difficulty making a final decision for the e/w hamilton in black and now onto my second purse im so confused haha

I love the sapphire color, I don't think it is hard to match but since I wear jeans nearly every day I always wear blue.

For some reason I really love the sapphire in the top zip compared to the Selma. And I did figure out outfits and what colors would match with the sapphire but it did not help my confusion with deciding between the two! Haha I tried to get my mom to keep the top zip instead of another MK purse I got her but she will not be keeping the top zip in the sapphire and said she would want it in black instead :(

My Selma collection includes luggage, malachite (an emerald green with gold hardware), and sapphire. I skipped out on black because I can wear the malachite with most fall/winter/dark colors and prefer it to black. So my luggage Selma is for year-round, malachite is for fall/winter, and sapphire is my bold, fierce statement bag. :smile1:

I think you should go for the Selma in black! It's lovely, I just got a messenger in black. I think the reason bold colors look good on the top zip is because it's a simple, clean-cut design. The Selma has structure and a more unique shape that looks elegant in neutrals without being boring.

I totally agree that the Selma looks great in neutrals. The Selma in black is gorgeous, but so is the Selma in luggage. I would even add navy to that list. jess39 has a hard decision to make.
